On another site I'm on, a really lovely Christian woman mentioned that one of her strict criteria for joining a church is that it couldn't have a woman pastor. I mentioned this to my husband who told me that lots of people feel that women shouldn't hold power as heads of a church. I'm still fairly new to Christianity (reaccepted Christ as my Savior about 5 months ago!) and had never heard this. I'm not sure if this is posted in the right forum, but could anyone give me insight to this? I asked my husband about our church because I know of at least two women that are on the pastoring team, but he said he thinks it's only if the "main pastor" is a woman...but he wasn't too sure either. Anyone able to fill me in on this?
