Have not been able to upgrade from free AVG version to new 8.0.
Will 8.0 not be free ?
Any other options out there ?

8.0 installs over 7.5. A few have reported problems with some new features--specifically, certain web page loads. They have a new "safe surf" feature (that inspects the links on a page) that installs w/o the choice of not including it. Post back if you have problems and I'll give you a link to their FAQ that tells you how to install it w/o the safe surf feature. Firefox already has this feature built in, so its not really necessary.

Been trying all month to download. It either wouldn't work or wouldn't download completely.
