Lord, my husband and I need Your guidance and wisdom regarding the seemingly sincere Christian fellow who's come into our teen son's life as a business/computer trainer and kind of spiritual mentor. He seems quite sincere in his faith and desire to follow after You, but at the same time he says things that are almost cult-leader-like in a way. Is he a wolf in sheep's clothing or just spiritually immature, Lord? We sense in him a sincere desire to follow You and see others follow You (thus, he kind of mentors this group of teen guys), yet we also sense too much of an insertion of self into and a lack of scriptural depth and maturity in his spiritual understandings (i.e., how he uses and tries to teach what he senses is his spiritual gift). Lord, we don't want to misread one of Your servants, but we also don't want to allow our son to follow poor spiritual guidance (in the midst of the computer training). Please, Lord, we and the couple other parents need Your wisdom and insight...to Your glory and according to Your purpose in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Lord please help these teens to follow you more closely and not to be under the yoke of bondage. I pray that this trainer would turn his life over to you or become closer to you and help these parents to do what they need to and express their concerns to their kids that will be most helpful; help them to take a stand if necessary. We ask your guidance in this situation and turn this whole situation into your hands. We thank you that you care more for this situation than we do and for what you will do in these children's lives. In Jesus name amen.

March7...do you know where this trainer attends church? If so, maybe you or your husband could talk to his pastor and find out what his church believes. Or maybe there is someone else he has mentored that you both trust that you could talk to. Just a thought...

Lord, I lift March7 and her husband to You now. I pray You would give them clear direction and discernment with this trainer. I pray You would watch over them and protect them and their family from any deception that the enemy wants to bring into their life. Help them to know You more and help them to be able to see this trainer through Your eyes and through Your word. Give them wisdom, Lord.

in Jesus name,
amen

Al4jc -- Thanks for your insightful wisdom. I appreciate your caring suggestions. Many thanks... We do know his church, actually, and, unfortunately, it's imploding at the moment and in the process of being taken over by the mega-church of our general area. The pastor has gone already, which is sad to this trainer-fellow, who respected the pastor a great deal. (So, we've invited him to our church.) There are a handful of teen guys in this group, and we know one of the families (from our church), so we talk with them. Our son knows one other of the guys from our Christian high school. Prior to this group, which he's been developing for two-three years, all the other teens this fellow has mentored over the years have been foster children. He seems sincere, but he seems to let his enthusiasm for God's work get in the way of waiting on God such that he ends up saying strange-sounding self-bent things that don't seem very rooted in scripture. We're also not sure yet how submissive he is to authority, like the authority of a local church, for example, as he seems to be a kind of maverick...has this ministry on his own. So, though he could be very sincere, all these things seem like either signs of simple immaturity or a particular plan. Simple immaturity that's teachable before the Lord, that we don't mind, but a particular plan in the mind of spiritual maverick is uncomfortable to us. We've had some good chats and prayers with our son already, too, who though excited about the computer programming stuff brought the spiritual discomfort to our attention. Sooo.... THANKS so much for your insight, al4jc, and thanks to everyone for their prayers. To God be the glory. Amen.

Lord open the eyes of March 7. Lord she needs your guidance. Lord allow her to know if this gentlemen is sincere or maybe has his own agenda. Thank you for the enthusiasm of March 7's son as well. May he grow closer to You Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen.

O, Lord Jesus...I've been in this situation before (when I got involved in a big church volunteering group). I really detest hypocrites (wolves in sheep clothing). May You rebuke those who misleading others, and NOT
glorifying Your Name. Please protect us (including March7's teenage son), Your children, who really seek Your guidance and Mercy, amen.

Lord I lift up March7 son to you and ask that you will protect him and the other young men.
I pray Lord that the truth about this mentor would readily be revealed and brought into the open.
I pray Lord that you would lead and guide these young men and help them to stay on the right path for their lives.
keep them near you Lord and help them not to be lead astray in any way or by anyone.
Lord i pray for this man March is concerned about.
I Pray Lord he will see the things he is saying which are bringing so much concern.
I pray Lord that he will draw closer to you and want to teach only the truth about you and your word.
Lord I ask that your truth will shine through and any deception willing or unwilling may be revealed.
I pray Lord that you will bring a conclusion to these concerns and help everyone involved.
In Jesus name
Amen
