I knew when he walked out alone he was going to die and I'm not surprised at who shot him! But it will make for some interesting story lines going forward.

I actually thought the car was going to blow up when he started it.

Maybe he's not dead, and the writers will have a whole "[name redacted]-in-a-coma" thread to play with all next season.

Addendum: it's what I'd do if I were in their shoes (I'm a writer as well, and my mind sometimes wanders into dark waters). Look at CSI Miami. They did almost the exact thing with Delko's charcter a while back.

I also thought that the car was going to blow up, but him getting shot like that. Who knows what will happen now? Since the actor has left the show, more than likely, the character will be killed off or replaced by someone else. More than likely since Gary is so identified with that character, he'll probably be killed off.

Oh they can't replace the actor. When he walked to the car, I agree, it was easy to see something was going to happen. I try to stay away from spoilers so, if there was talk of him leaving the show, I hadn't heard it. I was surprised it seemed so final - point blank twice and they showed that the first went straight through his neck! It's such a bummer. I didn't mind Sara leaving (or getting trapped under a truck) much. I was horrified when they left it up in the air with Nick, would've hated to see him go! But I hate to see Warrick go!!! It'll be pretty hoaky, IMO, if he's not dead. Weird that they didn't leave it more open ended, though. I think, of the 3, Vegas is the best by far and Warrick's character is so central to the interaction and has been since the beginning. I just hate to see it change.

I didn't watch it but Gary Dourdain (warrick) has been arrested on Felony drug charges and some sites stated he wasn't returning to CSI and some did, so I guess we'll see what they decide. I believe his contract is up.

then I think next season is William Petersen's last, he has been planning on leaving for a year or two.

the show can't survive losing 3 main characters.

Who shot him? All I saw was him slumping against the wheel dead.

Gary and CBS could not come to an agreement on a contract, so he is basically gone from the show. William Peterson did sign on for another year, but after that who knows? His character is central to the show and it may survive without him if he decided not to return, just like Law and Order has with different actors throughout the course of the shows run. That sheriff the gray haired guy was the one who shot Warrick.

I thought they were going to have him just leave like Sarah, but I had a feeling he was going to end up dead. I thought it was going to be when they were walking out of the diner but it wasn't. Then I knew when the guy was talking to him in the car and where the conversation was going that he wasn't going to give up. And he did mention "it was someone higher up". Now the team trying to find out who did it, is going to end up being a whole other series of episodes about it next season, cause I'm sure they won't be able to figure it out right away since it's the under sherriff . They'll probably try to pin it on that officer guy. I wish the wouldn't do these whole story arcs. CSI NY was doing that too with the whole 333 killer and more recently with the Cabbie Killer.

But I don't think he's coming back. If you notice we later see him shoot into the car a couple of more times.

I don't know if I'll keep watching or not. We'll see.

I thought the same thing!!

I had read earlier this year that Gary Dourdain was not coming back next season - so I wasn't suprised that his character was killed off. So I kinda saw this one coming. I was thinking like Random and thought the car was going to explode.

One thing I couldn't tell, when >the undersherriff< was talking to Warick, did he put his hand on the inside of the car door? This was when he was talking to him before he shot him.

Also, do you think the waitress was in on it?? They way she was making eyes at Nick? Ya know, to make sure Warick was alone when he left ??

I was wondering the same thing. And they showed her alot too so she does seem suspicious.

If he did, at least they'll have prints. But something tells me he didn't cause that would make it too easy and I'm betting this is a mystery they'll probably make drag on a few episodes before they solve it. And it'll be annoying since we know who did it.

I also don't think Warrick is dead either. I believe we have what is called a Cliffhanger. CSI has done a few time before.

hubby and I just watched this online, and no he did not put his HAND on the car...he leaned in and had his arm on the car, but he was careful to make sure he never touched it...even fiddling with his sleeve to make sure it was not touching his skin.

And he shot him point blank, close range at least twice - once through the neck (as I said before). If he's still alive, it'll be just stupid.

yeah I think they killed that character off. I can't really see them being able to bring him back and medically explain it away.

Not as stupid as Sarah Tancredi still being alive on Prison Break.

I would say the only way he could make it was if Nick does come out just then and finds him ASAP.

When they said someone higher up and then he went out for Brass to process him out and Brass kind of snarled at him I thought it was going to be Brass who wast he mole

There was talk about a "bad cop" and then there was talk that it went higher up the chain of command. It was the guy that wears a suit that I think was the captain.

not the "captain"...his official title is "under sheriff"

Brass is the Captain. He appears to still be a good guy. Which is good because I like him.
