Well, I thought I would start a new topic over in the PFY (even though it will likely be buried shortly, LOL). My husband and I are making a cross-country move this week & we could definitely use some prayers, encouragement, words of wisdom, etc.
Bright and early Wednesday morning we'll leave California. We should hit Arizona by that night. Thursday evening we're planning to reach my dad's house in SW KS. On Friday, we'll drive the rest of the way to our new house.
My DH will drive the moving truck & I'll be in our SUV with our 5 year old. It was cheaper to pay for the gas to drive out than it was to tow the vehicle behind the moving truck. We're looking at 10-12 hour days depending on traffic/pit stops/etc.
It's been rough already as we're still trying to see where the money is. We've asked God to show it to us as this is His move. After all, He's the One who ordered it. We're praying that things will be shown to us before this time tomorrow evening.
It should be lots of fun to keep a 5 year old entertained all the way to Kansas; however, he's been on a few trips in his short life and done well. Oregon is a good 10 or 11 hour drive (or more) & he did that like a champ. No "Are we there yet?" questions. I don't think we'll get off with that this time as he was asking those sort of questions over the weekend as we drove the few hours to my in-laws. He'd asked 20 zillion times before we even left the town we live yet...at least it seemed like it. 
Our net will be gone after tomorrow morning so if someone wants to be my contact, send me a PM with a contact number where I can send you a text message and/or call you. The cell phone goes with us & it will be fully charged that morning 
Um, I guess those are the basic details of our move. Just please uphold us before God throughout our travels. I'll be in touch...

We're disconnecting the net...so we'll be AFK until Friday during our move.

Got a text from Megan earlier today:
"We're on the road, been here 6.5 hours. Approaching Needles, CA"
The message came in at 5:26 EST.

Wow Megan, you guys are crusin'!! I remember our move from Florida to Orlando. My brother drove the truck the kids sat between him and I. That was quite an adventure.
We moved in on Sunday (but our drive was only a couple of miles). I have managed to get the kitchen unpacked and the girls' room. The biggest challenge will be the office.

Megan sent me a text mid-afternoon, but I was hiking around a huge provincial park, so just got home now. Around 2:30 or so (EST) she msged that they were in New Mexico, and were frustrated with the driving directions from Google, and had to jump back on the highway and try to get back on track ......
It's definitely a LONG move!

Megan et al. made it to their new home this morning ... messaged me around lunch saying they were there and starting to unpack. She was hoping to be online this eve, but I'm thinking it'll be tomorrow at the earliest (an internet tech was supposed to drop off a quick connection kit or something to that effect this aft ... don't know if he showed up)

Oh, he showed up...just didn't do the job properly or something...cuz we were no closer to having the net when he left than when he came.
It's working now though. We're here safely....things are going well. Finances are tight though & it's HOT (107 today). AC isn't working ATM...hopefully tomorrow when that tech comes out. It was serviced last week, but not fixed for whatever reason. Landlord wasn't happy.
Thanks for your prayers, y'all. We're still unpacking...will be for awhile.......
