I really did not see a forum for the discussion of depression or mental health issues
(maybe no one here has had to deal with these!), but certainly these issues are very
real in the population, Christian or otherwise. I have a few poems dealing with such
struggles from the Christian point of view.

Depression

Depression: a recession of the spirit
An involuntary retraction into a shell
A relinquishing of relationship to everyday activities
A transition from joy...to hell.
A horrible heaviness that lingers
Ever expanding quicksand of mind
Confinement to a keyless prison
A tortured traveler, lost, blind.
O Lord, if you see me struggling thus,
Bereft of hope, hearth and shelter,
Please recall springtime when light of day
Was all I needed and all I knelt for.

We do indeed have threads re Mental Health issues.

We have a Mental Health Encouragement & Support thread, and a Mental Heath Debate thread. Both are One Stop Threads and neverending, so please feel free to jump right in in both or either.

Thanks for posting those, manda. I was going to, but you beat me to it.

Bob, we can still discuss your poem here -- about the writing and composition aspect of it, if you would like feedback and critiques. Just cannot discuss issues of depression - since there are the one-stop threads already started.

These threads are good. I love the encouragement one. Take some thick skin to the debate one depending on who posts.
