Flowers are symbols in Scripture. The Lord Jesus is the Lily of the Valley. Here in Ontario, we have the Trillium as the Provincial flag.

Saskatchewan has the Western Red Lily as its Provincial flower. It's even on the Provincial flag of Saskatchewan.

I'm sure all of these are probably listed on a website somewhere. Is there a point to this discussion?

I guess my point is that symbols can be important and instructive, and my first post, above, is that symbols in Scripture point to the Lord Jesus. Lots of you guys are Americans, which is great. I guess the northern half of North America shares a Continent with you guys. God bless.

Ok, but all of the other posts don't do anything other than to identify the flowers of these other areas. Are you going to tie them in with the OP other than to say they are part of north America?

We may or may not be part of North America, but Texas has the Bluebonnet. Hope this helps. (Helps what I don't know....)

Anyway, yes, maybe after my first post I got a bit carried away, but also driving along this morning I thought of a good Sunday School lesson to prepare for. First of all, print off large pictures of the Provincial flowers of Canada, or, if in the US, various State flowers, and then print off some of the flowers of Scripture, like the Lily of the Valley, the Rose of Sharon, and so forth. It's the sort of thing that might appeal to young people and also the kind of thing they might remember. Something like that, anyway. God bless.

This thread is slow. (I've started other threads. I've contributed to other threads, some of them marked humorous and when I have tried to join in, have been flamed: no problem, I guess humour is an indefinable thing. I've also encouraged ppl who have posted to post again on threads and that has been found unacceptable also. In the NT, the word DIABOLOS refers to false accusers. Okay. I think I'll stand back a bit and be less interactive, and interact more with ideas than with individuals.) Anyway, the fact is that Scripture does speak of various flowers, and North American territories have them, and they can be instructive.
