What's the difference between dressing up in a costume and receiving candy from your neighbors versus dressing up and receiving candy from your church? If Halloween is so bad then why do churches allow the costumes and candy at their fall festivals? I know I am in the minority here but I still think attacking Halloween is a useless battle for the church. Most Americans are not worshiping the occult but rather participating in a common tradition that is fun for the kids. There are much worse things that we participate in rather than the celebration of Halloween.

Halloween was my favorite holiday as a kid. I was dressed up some way within an hour of coming home from school on Halloween or half the day on the weekend if that's where it landed that year. Now as an adult come to find out the holiday is pure evil. We never celebrated evil as kids and we don't now either. However, we do hand out candy to the tricker treaters that come by. Our church does a festival usually or trunk or treat with tracks. Have debated the whole thing over many times. Honestly I miss the costume fun and all the fun stuff surrounding it, but what's right I don't know. This holiday still leaves me unsure of what's best or right?

You Halloween-celebrating people are pure evil I have gone to churches that have trunk or treats or "fall festivals" (like that doesn't make it Halloween). The requested no scary costumes, but since it is open to the community, I never really understood how they could "enforce" that without coming off as really.....jerky (I'm sorry dear, you can't have candy because you're dressed like a witch) I went trick or treating growing up, and I can honestly say I have never been involved in the occult, criminal behavior, etc. I also tempted fate by watching Scooby Doo. My feeling is that if one believes that they should not celebrate Halloween, then they should not celebrate it. If they would prefer their children not celebrate it, then their children should not celebrate it. But that should be the extent of it. Not realted to Halloween, I once wore a Christmas sweater to church, and someone came up to me and told me Santa was of the devil because when you rearranged the letters it spells Satan. This is the kind of thing that just gives me eye rolls.
