My mom is a member of the church where Mr. Burns sang with his family for over 50 years in Greenville, SC. The Burns Trio was well known in the SC/NC area. There was never a group that had the power of The Holy Spirit on them like The Burns Trio. The funeral will be Friday afternoon at the church: Tabernacle Baptist Church on White Horse Road in Greenville, SC. Bro. Harold is probably singing, "I'll meet you in the Morning" right now with his friend--Bro. Billy Kelley. God bless the family.

I'm sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Burns. I remember the Burns Trio always coming out to the Jubilee at Trinity Baptist in Asheville about every year. They were a very spiritual group.

I posted his death in prayer requests earlier this week, his nephew Justin is our minister of music. Also, another couple at Tabernacle, the Careys were killed by a hit and run driver this week. Mr. Carey was a deacon and his wife a Sunday school teacher and they were long time friends of the Burns family as well. Just a a side note, earlier this year his sister Bonnie was diagnosed with cancer and in late June was sent to a Hospice house. They were told she had a short time to live. During campmeeting in Greer, SC, Mrs. Bonnie got up one morning (not woke up but actually got up) and took a shower. She ate her breakfast and was a lot better. By the next day the hospice house was preparing to do something they don't normally, send a patient home alive because she was so much improved. That night Mrs. Bonnie drove herself (and Harold) to the campmeeting and the Trio and Mrs. Bonnie sang. After the Trio sang, Mrs. Bonnie sang 'Oh What A Savior Is Mine' her 'trademark' song. She told through tears that she had asked the Lord to allow her to attend campmeeting and sing for Him one more time. He did and also allowed her to attend Blue Ridge Campmeeting a few weeks later. She is not doing well at the moment and needs our prayers as well. Mrs. Hazel, one of the other sisters was having hip replacement the day Harold died. Mrs. Naomi is also in bad health. Pray for them all during this time please. His brother Jim Burns is a minister of music in NC, he was a minister of music for over 25 years in Greenville, SC and another brother CJ has sung with the Travel'rs and the Pine Ridge Boys.

According to The Greenville News Online, the person who hit the Careys has been arrested, and is in jail right now.
