I've read lots of whole books in one day, but I'll have to think back to remember which ones. (I did it all the time when I was younger.)

Tuesdays With Morrie, Illusions (the Adventures or a Reluctant Messiah) by Richard Adams, Dinner with a Stranger. Those are the only 3 I can recall other than every new issue of Spiderman back in the 60's.

Oh man...I used to do that all the time. So many, I couldn't name them. I used to even read 2 books in a day on a regular basis. Of course that was when I had a whole lot more time on my hands than I do now. Now it takes me a month to get through a novel unless I'm on summer break.

I remember reading "This Present Darkness" in one day. And that's a large book!

Other, shorter books I've read in one day, too. Too many to mention.

Same here, have done it too often to even begin to remember all of them.

I've done that many times, but the first time was the book Cougar when I was in third grade. It was about a mother cougar trying to help her cubs survive. It was 35 pages and I read it in an hour. It was a chapter book and I was so totally amazed that I could read an entire 'big' book in an hour. So I did it several times in a row.

I think I read The Historian in 2 days. I think that's up near 800 pages. I would have finished it in a day but dh started to get jealous that I could lie on the couch (even though I was so sick). I had to put it down. Ditto for Outlander (same illness...lol).

Several times.

I read The Last Lecture in a matter of a few hours. Each of the Harry Potter series were read in a matter of hours - some 4 or 5 hours other 10 to 12 hours.

My dd has read so many books in a matter of a few hours, that I can't even begin to count. It's not unusual for her to pick up a book at the library and have it completely read by the time we get home which is rarely more then 30 minutes. She read the first two Harry Potter books in a matter of 24 hours.

Blessings,

Garsy

Yes. I have no idea how many. But a few that come to mind are Profiles in Courage, The Peter Principle, Future Shock, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, The Second Coming, Dove and a bunch of other stuff that I don't even remember.

oh yes! Back in the day, when the hubby and I were first married. No kids, and I stayed home. Keeping house was easy, we had no furniture!
So I read. And read.
I read "Little Women" for the first time in that season. One day. I seriously read "Anna Karenina" in one day people. That is a LONG book.
I used to go to the on base library every day, get 4 or 5 books and read them all in one day.
I'm going to have to hunt for my list (yes, I kept a list of all the books I read in the 9 months Justin was in tech school LOL)

First Book in the Death Gate Cycle I read in a Day. It suprised me when I closed it and looked at the clock and realised I had time to start the next one before heading to the Chow Hall .

Does it count if I read Curious George or Junie B. Jones to my 7 year old or a group of kindergarteners or 1st graders?! If it does I read at least one entire book EVERY day!

Blessings,

Hey! I was on copious amounts of drugs and could barely get up.

Honestly I couldn't understand what his problem was (although I do now). I'd managed the boys all day from my chair, including a toddler, so he wouldn't have to waste a vacation day. I guess I can't manage a grown man from it as well.

Sandy,

You've got my respect. I read that with a pen and piece of paper beside me so I could keep track of the characters.

I have read a whole book in one day numerous times, but it's been a while since I've done that so I can't tell you any titles right now.

And I remember a long time ago, in college, reading entire books in the wee hours of the morning so that I could be prepared for exams the next day.

I've done this many times! When I first discovered the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series I stayed home from work once to read book 5 (IIRC).

I did something like that with the Rabbit triology (well, I guess it's more than a triology now ). Anyway, it was a triology at the time. I read Rabbit Run, and when I was done, I literally put the book down and picked up Rabbit Redux and read it the rest of the day and finished it.

Same here. If the books grips me hard enough, I can average 100 pages/hr.

I've read a lot of books in one day. Too many to count. I started doing that as a kiddo. My parents challenged me to read particular books, so I read The Hiding Place and the autobiography of Joni Erickson Tada when I was around 7-8 years old, among other books that were beyond my years. I'm glad my parents encouraged that. We lived right across the street from the library and I was homeschooled, so I would go and get a stack of books (usually 4 at a time) and take them back within 3 days and get four more.

Now that I'm a SAHM I have more time to read again. I can usually finish one book in 2 evenings, after everyone has gone to bed.
