Several years ago I made a bunch of ornament "blanks" (crochet shapes about 2-3" across) in round, snowflake, and star (star ones had a "tail") that I donated to a daycare for a Christmas craft--the children used glitter glue to decorate the blanks making sparkly ornaments for gifts or their own trees. These turned out beautiful even in little hands. If there is anyone in your church who can crochet, these are easy to make (particularly the round ones). Knitters can make tiny snowmen or "angels" pretty easy knitting in the round (base requires crochet) I"ll share my patterns if you want it.

We made these neat printable boxes at one of our women's ministry meetings last year. Just print them out on cardstock, cut and follow the folding and gluing instructions.

Thanks a latte! These are some great tips! I'll be sharing them with our pastor's wife in a few more weeks. If anyone has anymore ideas, I'd love to hear em!

one year, I scanned and printed some old Christmas photos on double-sided paper and on the back of the photo, I printed the year it was taken...then, I bought these plastic ornaments and used fancy scissors to cut the photos to fit and kinda sandwiched it between the two pieces. Then, I used craft glue and glued some decorative ribbon around the seam and put a matching bow at the top. I made these for my sisters, they loved them. I imagine you could do any variation.....you could use old christmas cards or drawings etc...and make something similiar.

These are really neat too, and sometimes you can find the matching towel sets at Dollar General type stores. sorry if I'm hogging the thread.

Those towel angels are great! My niece ( 9 years old at the time) made a bunch of these for Christmas gifts one year! Mine isn't made from a matching set yet it is as cute as anything! My mind is drawing a blank as far as crafty things right now. Guess I'm not thinking Christmas yet! Blessings, Garsy
