I could put several verses here on "hope" but I'll get the ball rolling with this one. This is just one of my favorites.

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not have we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:24-25

Psalm 118 24.
This is the day the Lord has made - I WILL rejoice (even when I do not feel like it (my pp)) and be glad in it.
I WILL make the choice to rejoice and be glad in it whether I feel like it or NOT.
That verse, and Phil 4 8, encompass the ENTIRE field of human psychiatry.
