What things and situations send the wrong message? If you are only trying to be friendly, what things should a person not do that would indicate sending an unintentional romantic message that one is interested?

I think those three little words and we all know what they are. Been there, done that with potential dates.

Ooooh wow, being overly nice, I got a rude awaking when I found he was just overly nice to everyone, LOL. I had a major crush on this one guy who was a christian and I thought he liked me as well because he was so nice and attentive, until I got to see he was the same with everyone else.
Too much eye contact
Too much touching
Always talking to that particular person all the time (mix it up)
Too much attention
Too much smiling
Too much tossing of the hair
Too much laughing
and don't stand too close.
Singling that person out in a crowd

I have this one guy that I work with, now if he was not married I would undoubtedly think he was interested in me because his is sooo nice and sweet and kind. He told me that my presence does something to him that my spirit is what make me beautiful, I could have taken that the wrong way but I didn't. He was just expressing himself and how he felt and he was not hitting on me at all, he just liked me as a person. I guess it's how you take things.

Do NOT spend countless hours on the phone with someone for 6 months if you are only their friend.

Don't invite someone to family functions unless you are completely interested.

Or if you haven't already established that you are JUST friends.

I'm in total agreement with jlp.

I thought women didn't really care for toupees? You mean if a man wears one and tosses it around it could be enticing?
