Yes it is possible ... but life is more than that. Remember to live. Enjoy life as God meant you to. And help others less fortunate than you.

Yes we can but the majority of the time it is within the subconscious mind that we are. This is possible if we allocate our conscious mind when we are able to focus on God…then when we are otherwise involved we are still focused on a subliminal level. The key to focusing our conscious mind is to understand that God is always working in our lives and to learn to trust completely in His love. If we think God is remote and doesn’t really get involved in our everyday life we are never really going to get there. Bob

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Yes it is possible. Yet it seems in daily life few actually do it or are aware of it. Why? For instance, here are a few other similar verses to consider and ask, "How is this done?" Psalm 10:4 - "The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. " I Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray without ceasing." I Chronicles 16:11 - "Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually."

I don't think it's possible to think of God every second without ceasing. I don't think it's possible because I am a fallen creation living in a fallen world ... i.e. I have a sin nature (even though I am saved by the grace of God! Thank you Jesus!) I will always struggle with my sin nature. I am spiritually reborn, I am not physically reborn ... and I will not be physically reborn until the day the Lord gives me a new physical, unstained, immortal body. Until then, the spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is absolutely, without a doubt, so very weak. Thank God for His mercies and compassions! And while it is my burden to choose whether or not I shall continue to struggle and strive to be more Christ-like with every breathe I take (thank you Holy Spirit for all the power you provide to do this!) I know from personal experience that it only takes a split second for sin to manifest itself in my thoughts and then, sometimes, it just rolls right off my tongue or perhaps it rears it's ugly head through a momentary loss of control of my emotions in some way! ARGH! - and because of that, there is no way I can honestly and truthfully say "I think of God every second" ... and so I seriously doubt any fallen creation living in this fallen world can. At the same time, I can also say that I think of God sooooo much more during the day than ever before in my entire life! But every second ... sadly no. It seems impossible for me to think of Him every second. Yet, every second He is thinking of me! Every second, He is with me!

I also don't think it's possible. My mind has wondered 2 times already in just trying to type this post! But more importantly, I don't think it's meant as a literal command to pray unceasingly. The Bible is filled with over the top metaphors that aren't supposed to be taken literally. (i.e., if the Mets killed the Reds, no one would think baseball players literally killed one another). What these verses are driving at is that we should make every effort to focus our lives around God. And the best way to do that is to stay in a "constant" conversation, where we just keep talking to God throughout the day. Not where we do nothing but pray, because that's impossible.

My advice is don't turn this command into a neurotic obsession. When He says, pray without ceasing, that means don't give up, don't turn yourself over to the flesh - so it is meant to be fulfilled in a spiritual, not a physical (timely) sense. To have your mind focused on God every waking second (well, aren't you disobeying if you don't think about him during sleep?) is not something a loving God requires. And, in addition to all these things, God sometimes withdraws to teach you patience and perseverance. He knows your needs, He knows you need some time off to enjoy life. Live the abundant life, not the burdened one.
