I like to visit with Kerrlaw here in SG. I get to learn about SG music, chat with the SG folks, and it's kind of like the Crosswalk Water Cooler. People come from everywhere to say hello and chat.

cranky has summed up the intent of this series of threads very well.

It's time to start a new thread for those who choose to share their wit and wisdom, as well as educate themselves and others, in the Southern Gospel folder.

IF YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS ON SPORTS, ENTERTAINMENT, HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY, THEOLOGY, MEDICINE, CURRENT EVENTS, POPULAR CULTURE, OR ANY OTHER SUBJECT OF INTEREST TO THE SOUTHERN GOSPEL FAN, OR ANYONE ELSE, THIS IS THE PLACE TO MAKE THEM.

Welcome to the "cooler" place to be.

Is this a water cooler or a wine cooler?

Hey Kerr. Like the new thread name. I was sorta concerned with some of the others. All those K initials and we would have been refering to this as the KKK thread.

Lynn, you are fast! I thought I had Kerr's other thread locked but you snuck one more post in!

How will that happen? The thread won't be deleted for a year and I'm sure you'll have lots more posts by then. :) Plus your post count will go down by just a few instead of a big chunk!

It's 90* and threatening to rain again. Had a huge thunderstorm early this morning...guess a taste of what is to come the rest of the week waiting on Hurricane Hanna!

Its a little warmer here today than it has been. No rain forecasted through the week... bummer! The grass was starting to green up from the rain - now it will die again.

Lawn is done ...

Talked to Hubby last pm and he arrived in Oregon safe and sound. The bus ride about did him in though. He wanted to travel by bus -- idiot! I would have flown... 2 1/2 days on a bus
His mother is in the hospital again -- she is a major hypochondriac and she will complain and complain about "stomach pain" until the doctor's do some surgical procedure to see what is going on. She even has a colostomy that she didn't need. She is a strange woman... and fairly young too. I believe she is about 61. She certainly needs a big dose of Jesus. Hubby is with his sister and she needs the Lord too. She told me once that when they were little, they went to church and people made fun of them because of the way they were dressed and so she's never wanted to go back. Sad...

Speaking from experience (my daddy had a colostomy), I cannot imagine someone having something that horrible without needing it. Did you mean "colonoscopy"? I'm just wondering what kind of doctor would do something that serious without it being absolutely necessary. I'm not trying to be argumentative; just curious if you meant something other than "colostomy".

She's nurse so I'm sure she meant colostomy. I agree with you though...extreme measure to get attention but I've had patients like that. Sad...

I guess I'm more amazed that a doctor would perform such a serious procedure without it being totally necessary. I know people who are needy in the attention department, but a doctor that would do a procedure like that without just cause is not doing his/her job, in my opinion.

Yes, I meant colostomy -- she wears a pouch outside her body. And I also found it amazing that any doctor would do that procedure without a really good reason.

Well, after going through that, I surely hope that she doesn't get anymore procedures that she doesn't need!

Daddy had colon cancer, which is why he had a colostomy. It was his choice to have it done; the doctor said it would provide some comfort for him, but it wouldn't help him live longer.

I'm praying for your family, and especially your mother-in-law.
