What free programs have you downloaded and used for your Mac? I love NeoOffice & Adium primarily, although I know I have like 30 that I can't name off the top of my head...

Cocktail is a system utility. Very useful for doing things like resetting all permissions, etc. Eclipse is a development environment (IDE) for Java and Java Server Pages (web stuff) Handbrake can convert DVDs into iTunes movies (but not most kinds of copy-protection). I also have a commercial program, Roxio Crunch, that does this too.

Handbrake isn't limited to ipod/iphone output. It can do high res captures. Some free ones I've used: Raven Lite sound editor Classic FTP Flip4Mac (lets Macs play wmv movies)

Preserve, I have some songs that were on a DVD of my choir from Easter, can I use Raven to change them to aiff files so I can put them on my ipod? I ripped them from the DVD with mac the ripper but can't get them in itunes.
