Does anybody know if "Kentucky Rose" is based on a true story? Does anybody know if there is a back story to the song or is this a ficticious story by mws? I have been wondering and have not been able to find out an answer on this since I first heard this on MWS's best of collection.

Not sure if the story's true or not. I really like the song!

You may want to find out who wrote the lyrics and try researching from there about the origins of the story.
