Some time ago there was a thread about our favorite appliances and my choice was the Keurig coffee brewer. In fact, I like it so much that we had two... one for home and one for traveling. But, we could only take it along when we drove to our destination. But, about a year ago, they made a small brewer designed for hotel rooms. When I found out, I hounded them into selling me one and we've loved it. The only problem is that my wife liberated it and set it up at work. So, it's been a bit of a hassle to remember to bring it home for weekend trips. So, we couldn't wait until a consumer version was available so we could have another one dedicated completely to travel. Last month Keurig released a consumer version of their brewer specifically for travel and places with smaller counter space. It's called the Mini Personal Brewer and it's quite cute. The only minus is that it makes only a smaller cup of coffee. But, that it more than offset by the size and convenience. I don't know about you. But, I don't trust utensils and appliances in hotel rooms and try to avoid using them. Our family had a place near Daytona Beach and we KNOW who stays at hotels and fuels our imaginations as to how those coffeemaker carafes might be used!! Having a way to make the coffee and tea that we want without having to rely on the inroom coffeemaker is well worth the investment to us. It's been available for a while through Bloomingdales. But, I decided to wait until they had it up on the Keurig site to mention it. I'm glad I did. Bloomingdales only carries the black version. But, it's available in black, red and white online. www.keurig.com

New Mini Personal Brewer... only $79.99 ... plus $0.60 per cup for the coffee itself ... Sometimes other people's affluence just leaves me speechless. Edited to add: Not meaning this in a judgmental way, just in a way that hopes affluent people know that they are blessed and that they are stewards not owners. Praise God for the wide variety of ways He works in our world.
