Sorry, the safety of everyone on-board the flight must take priority, and if some passengers (for any reason) disrupt that safety due to their personal behavior, then they have to go.

Yeah... even the mom said they were out of control. I can understand the mom's position- it had to be rough stuck with no money... and I think it was a good idea for the airline to give them the refund. It would have been a nice goodwill gesture by the company to help them out at the time, but I definitely think they were right in not allowing them to fly. Tara P

My 4 kids have flown since they were babies, as did I and my brother(our father was a pilot for American Airlines). Never once did I have a problemwith my kids' behavior because they had been taught from infancy how to behave and knew the consequences of not behaving(as well as the fact that said consequences would be administered immediately regardless of where we were at). I made sure that they had books, toys, crayons, snacks, and games to occupy their time with, and they each took turns sitting by me so we could talk and do things together. I constantly monitored their behavior and "nipped in the bud" any behavior that was heading off into the no-zone. My kids were always complimented by the crew and even some passengers for their good behavior, which always made them feel really good about themselves. Unruly children ARE a danger to the other passengers and crew as they will not listen to anyone trying to direct them. In addition they enrage other passengers who then may go off and themselves become a danger to other passengers and the crew. In the event of an emergency, unruly children and adults can get everyone else killed or seriously injured. Personally, I'd like to take a belt to both unruly children and their parents. While I can see that a disabled child may not be responsible for his/her behavior, the parents should know better than to take them into an environment where their disability can endanger others or where their disability hinders their own comfort and safety.

Flying is already hard enough without having to deal with people, young and old, who can't behave. Good on the airline, I'm sure the other passengers applauded en masse.
