I may have been mistaken about the books in " The World Wide church of God" thread. This is what the young guy told me started me these books were from. I have started reading them. First, chp.I already pick up on scripture twisting. I am only on the first chp. mind you, so I am going to be fair, and say, no definite opinion yet, but, seems pretty bad. Is he part of the World Wide Church of God? Do you have any information on his theology? Tell me what you know. Thanks for your time.

Many of his teachings are outright nutty. For instance, in 2006 he publicly declared himself to be one of the two witnesses of the Book of Revelation. Also, as far as I know, he never has recanted his statements that he is faithful to the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong, so that places him squarely into the cultic framework of Armstrongism. He has publicly declared himself to be a Prophet and one of his latest prophecies has to do with this month of April 2008: quote:
2008 - God's Final Witness From now until the latter part of 2008, many prophecies are going to begin to be fulfilled, especially the Seven Thunders of the Book of Revelation, which the apostle John saw but was restricted from recording. Those thunders are revealed in this book, as well as detailed accounts of the final three and one-half years of man's self-rule on earth, which are recorded in the account of the Seventh Seal of Revelation. Some of these prophecies concern the demise of the United States over the next year, which will be followed by man's final world war. This last war will be the result of clashing religions and the governments they sway. Billions will die! This time will far exceed even the very worst times in all human history. As these events unfold, the world will increasingly become aware of the authenticity of the words in this book and realize that Ronald Weinland has been sent by God as His end-time prophet. This book is primarily directed to the people of the three major religions of the world (Islam, Judaism and Christianity), whose roots are in the God of Abraham. Ronald Weinland has been sent to all three SOURCE for the above quote. He is not associated with the Plain Truth Magazine. A lot more can be said about this man's teachings and self-declarations. Let me know if you need more solid info.

quote:
My wife and I, as well as Johnny and Myrtle Harrell, will be visiting Israel from April 14th through April 21st. We will be in Jerusalem on April 17th which is the day the First Trumpet of the Seventh Seal sounds. The process of all that will occur, with the sounding of the First Trumpet, will begin on April 17th and continue to increase in destructive power (consequences) for the following seven weeks. The Second Trumpet will not sound until after the Day of Pentecost. This does not mean it is near that date, but it means it cannot happen until after that day. The actual beginning of the specific job God has for His two end-time witnesses (two end-time prophets) begins to unfold on April 17th. As I have already stated, I am one of those witnesses and the spokesman of both. While in Israel, I plan to reveal publicly the identity of the second witness in the sermon to be given on the Sabbath of April 19th from Jerusalem. Right off his homepage as well. He is calling the day of Christ's return . . quote:
As it was mentioned in this past Sabbath’s sermon, the final countdown has begun, as the 1335 days before the actual day Jesus Christ returns began on February 2, 2008.

Thank both of you. His teaching in the first chp. of the first book, about Jesus, no heaven, when your dead. He gives scriptures out of context. Also, He never so far gave the scripture absent from the body present with the Lord. He did not say what Jesus said to the thief on the cross " Today you will be with me in paradise." Know I need to read more, maybe later on. So he was associated with the World Wide Church of God?

What I am getting in the "2008 Final Witness", If I am reading it right, Weinland, seems to say Jews, Islam, and Christanity are one just all missing certian truths. Is this right, not what he is saying, but how I am reading what he is saying.

He must be right because he is one of the two end-times prophets spoken of in Revelation!

ORIGINAL: earthless From all accounts, it seems he still is. Actually, Weinland is an Armstrongism follower. The WCoG that Armstrong founded has become EVANGELICAL!! Here is the tale of their transformation and leaving the teachings that Weinland still clutches in their own words: History of the Worldwide Church of God It is truly amazing!

I said he was. Not sure if you read me correctly. And you do know that there still is a PWCG that is Armstrongism, right? It has not completely gone away, but is alive and well. When it split, with pastor Greg Albrecht leading the helm for an orthodox church, many remained in Armstrongism.

Thank you, moderator, for finding this for me. Not only does it bother me this guy says no heaven or hell, that's it's all a lie, but he says that during the millennial rule, those who have died before us will not return to reign with Christ on earth during those 1000 years. That's very disturbing to me. But because God says, 'Your ways are not my ways' meaning, to me, that we, with our limited understanding, can't comprehend everything about God and His meaning for us while we're in these earthly bodies, I am finishing the book. Right now I'm only a little over half way through it. Can anyone tell me about this Church he's speaking of?

This guy is an offcast from the World Wide Church of God, so in a sense, he is a follower of Armstrong. Since Armstrongs' death, the World Wide Church of God has recanted many or all of Armstrong's heresies, and is as far as I can tell close enough to standard doctrine so as to no longer be called a cult. This is, as far as I am aware, a unique development in the history of cultism. Weinland, however, considers that the church is in heresy for having abandoned Armstrong's teaching, and associates it's current leadership with the antichrist.

Poor Herbert didn't even have Ted following his lies after his death. To have your own kin say that you are a mistake and out of context is most of your passages. Says a lot about you. But think on this Herbert had a great influenuced on the Hal Lindsay and Jenkins and Robertson and anyone else who would say that anti-christ would come out of Europe.
