I should have posted this sooner, but given the way my computer is so antiquated (at least by PC/Mac standards), I had to postpone this posting, so to speak...

Any who, how many of you recalled that cultural gaffe on Hong Kong TV, where the actress (formerly of Basic Instinct infamy) said that the Chengdu earthquake is possibly in part to China's bad karma (think back to the violent repression of Tibetan youths, and possibly the country's business deals with genocidal Sudan in Darfur). I don't know about everyone here, but this almost reminds me of a crossbred of two of the most stupidest/headstrong comments/gaffes made by Richard Gere (when he made that "shocking" smooch in Bollywood, India), and the comments made concerning Hurricane Katrina's destruction in New Orleans (never mind the fact that the whiter parts of The French Quarter--a.k.a. the place where Mardi Gras' boobs&-beads exchange--was largely untouched!).

Personally, I think all Hollywood actors should be gagged whenever off set. They have a prodigious tendency to say things that most four-year-old children would be wise enough to avoid.

I'll say: given that an awful lot of A-list (Hollywood) celebrities are often of a religious sentiment--other than Christianity (or in general, Judeo-Christianity), it's been said if you make your living participating in make-believe, what's your sure chance that one might see reality in the same make-believe sense? Celebrity Buddhism and Scientology not withstanding?

Sounds like Sharon Stone is trying to revive her sagging career by saying something stupid.
