I heard a pastor preach on this once that because of Jesus Christ that we are all compatible. Do you agree with this or disagree?

That's a nice thought, but I voted no. We're members of the same family because of Christ. But just as in any family, the relationships take on different characteristics and dimensions. Family members naturally bond more easily with some more than others. The depths of our relationships vary.
Even though as believers we're all of the same family as brothers and sisters, I don't think that means that we're all compatible for dating and/or marrying each other. My initial thoughts on the subject...I'll be thinking more about this.

Nope. We're not all compatible. We might be spiritually compatible, but completely incompatible emotionally, physically, intellectually.
For me, just because someone is a Christian doesn't mean I'll enjoy being with him. What if we don't have anything in common. Let's say he's a total couch potato, and I'm always on the go, how compatible would we be?

That's crazy talk!  I discovered my ex-fiancee is into Eastern Orthodox Christianity. She loves Christ, but that's a denomination I'd never be part of. That doesn't even delve into the personality differences. That pastor doesn't have much experience w/ singles.
"C" for effort, though.

i believe that any 2 people with the help of God can achieve as great of a marriage as it gets, problem is people dont. we really just choose to minimize the work needed. after all marriage isnt eternal, so you dont have to all that patient about it.

Given the voting so far (13 @ 100% no; 0 @ yes and undecided), I'd say that all voters at this point would be incompatible with the pastor who offered this idea.

For instance, I would NEVER mesh with a believer who thought I should wear skirts and headcoverings. I wouldn't mesh with a believer who had, IMHO, a very legalistic approach to their faith. Of course, no believer who thinks remarriage is adultery could possibly be convinced to marry me. I am anathema to them. That would be the opposite of compatible, don't you think? And yet we are both believers.
So, obviously we are not all compatible.

He was talking in particular in regards to married couples, however I could see how the principal could apply to all relationships as well. Now, I wonder what people did in Biblical times as they had pre-arranged marriages back then instead?

what is defintition of compatible? was the pastor at some point trying to refer to existing marriages? like geared toward people struggling? cause it does sound crazy if not. i mean Jesus even prayed before selecting His disciples ... sure many more than 12 could have been compatible

He was talking about tough marriages in particular. Say 2 non-believers got married but then got saved. He was saying that because of Jesus all marriages are compatible.
