dear friends, i need your help. as we know, it was those missionaries to asia who translated the holy bible into chinese.. but i don't know the details of their translating work. are there any materials on that subject? especially, i want to know how they come to the decision of translating the word 'love' into a chinese word '爱' . any historical record on that? i've read Ruth Benedict's The Chrysanthemum and the Sword, which has a few words about that... but can anybody offer some more materials?
