For the Price of God’s Blood Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for us to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, the field of blood, unto this day. The religious leaders of the day were consumed with envy of Jesus Christ. For three and a half years He healed the broken hearted, the sick, those taken in the prison of sin. Kindness had poured from His lips. His great heart was one of love, love, love! But He was betrayed and condemned to die for the price of thirty pieces of silver. For the price of Jesus’ blood the chief priests bought the potter’s field. The potter’s field was the place where potters would throw away their broken pottery. They discarded the pieces in the field as useless. Treasured reader, do you feel as if your life or heart has been broken? Have others discarded you and considered your life as useless? Have you been shattered by the effects of sin in your life, either your own sin or the sins of others? Do you feel as if your life has no value and you have been, in effect, thrown away? In Scripture, we are sometimes referred to as vessels or pottery that the potter God is forming into beautiful vessels of His choosing. God, by buying with His own blood, the potter’s field and all the broken pieces within it, is saying to us “I love you so much that I bought that field so that I could have, as my own, the field with all of the broken people within it. I shed my blood so that I could purchase broken people and put their lives back together.” He sees such value in us that He wants to put the broken pieces back together in our lives and we will be a beautiful vessel used for the glory and honor or God. And when He puts our broken lives back together, the greatest light of His love and compassion will shine through the cracks in our vessels. © Virginia Ganskie, 2006

God’s Broken Heart, Our Broken Heart “He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief” “Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness; and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none” Jesus Christ speaking in Isaiah and the Psalms When we speak of the suffering of Christ on the cross, we rightly speak of the extreme physical pain that He endured. Such physical suffering none have endured as His! However, how little we speak of the emotional and mental anguish that He suffered. Jesus Christ allows Himself to be vulnerable to abuse and rejection from men. “Reproach hath broken my heart,” He says, because “He is despised and rejected of men.” He was despised and rejected two thousand years ago and He is despised and rejected by men today. If we were to ask people who suffer from chronic physical and emotional pain which is harder to endure I believe many would say that emotional pain is the harder of the two. Certainly, chronic physical pain is horrible. It can lead to depression, early death, and put great stress on the recipient and their loved ones. But prolonged emotional abuse and rejection can break the strongest of hearts. “Reproach hath broken my heart,” says the harmless Savior. And for those of us who might question what reproach means, it means to find fault with a person, to blame or censure. Have we been, like Jesus, the objects of reproach? Do others find fault with and criticize us? When we know that we are innocent and yet others criticize and shame us what do we do? Has our heart been broken, perhaps many times? Let us go to the One Who made the heart. Jesus knows so well the pain we are experiencing. Perhaps His heart was ruptured so that our broken heart could fit inside of His; two broken hearts beating together as one. O, my precious brothers and sisters in Christ! Let us commit our sorrowful hearts into His, where we will find acceptance instead of rejection, encouragement instead of shame, gentleness instead of harshness and sweetness instead of bitterness. Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly, While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high. Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past; Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last. Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee; Leave, ah! Leave me not alone, still support and comfort me. All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring; Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing. ~ Charles Wesley ~ © Virginia Ganskie

Whispers of Love “And all bore him (Jesus) witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth―Luke 4:22 KJV. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth” ―John 1:14 KJV. It is of notable significance that Luke relates the public ministry of Jesus beginning with a description of the Lord’s speech. After Jesus quoted from the Book of Isaiah how He had come to fulfill His Messianic mission, He stated that the prophecy of Isaiah was fulfilled in Himself. And what was the mission of Messiah, Jesus? It was that He would heal the brokenhearted, preach the gospel to those desperate in their need, He would set free those that are held captive in sin and by Satan, He would give the blind their sight and that He would set at liberty those that are bruised. His ministry, while on earth was a gracious ministry and it was no more apparent than in the graciousness of His speech. His were kind words that flowed from his lips. His were gentle, loving and compassionate words. His were words that built people up, strengthened them and gave them hope. How kind were the words that He spoke to the woman caught in adultery when He told her that He did not condemn her. How He brought joy to Zachaeous, the chief of the tax-collectors when He told him that He wanted to spend the day with him. Zachaeous was probably one of the most hated men of his time but Jesus poured words of grace upon him even before Zachaeous had repented of his sin. He always saw the best in people and instead of pointing out their faults He spoke to them of the good He saw in each individual. And so it is today. Jesus has not changed and one way that we can recognize the way that He is speaking to us is the way He whispers His love and encouragement to us. He wants to build us up. He wants us to hear His gentle “fear not”. He wants us to recognize His kind and gracious ways with us. Sometimes it can be difficult for us to believe that God is gracious. His words of love and encouragement can be so different from what many of us have experienced during our painful life. But He is there and He desires us to recognize His wonderful whispers of love to us. Beloved, are we still enough to hear Him? © Virginia Ganskie

Jesus Christ is very great. Where is the darkness that He cannot vanquish? Where is the life He cannot heal and save? Where is the impossible He cannot do? "Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war." (Revelation 19:11) Today, right now, right where you and I live, God is faithful. Jesus will make a way. In fact, it's better than that. Jesus is the way. Remember the people in the Gospel stories? There were people born blind, people with shriveled hands, people with useless legs, people with leprosy, people whose lives were in the very hands of demonic spirits. Many of these folks had lost every hope -- until Jesus came along. And some of them had little hope that even Jesus could really help them out. But you know what? When Jesus spoke, the dead woke up. When Jesus touched a life, everything was set right. Nothing was impossible for Jesus. And right now, in your life, nothing is impossible for Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate pivoting principle that saves the world. He is the faithfulness of God at work. Jesus will make things make sense. Wherever you are in your life and walk, remember what God has said. God will not fail to do all that He has promised. Whatever God has said, God will do. Don't lose hope. Don't waver when the going gets difficult -- and then impossible. When the days grow dark and the storm rages overhead, we will be kept by Him who keeps us. Even if we should perish in this world, we will stand in robes of righteousness at the throne of Him who died to save us. He is our King, our Shepherd, our Life and our unfailing Hope. He is our Savior and Lord. His Name is Jesus. All praise and honor and glory belong to Him forever. Amen and amen. Article by Jim Sutton the entire article may be found at: http://www.faithwriters.com It is called Pivoting Principles.

Hi everyone, late night post!! I just had a thought about the different faces of Jesus: I see Jesus everywhere, every day, because Jesus is in every person that i meet, and my love for Jesus should also translate into love for that person, However, i don't know if this is the case for you too, there is that special "Jesus" that i can feel!! it's like the Jesus, Jesus, the one that just brings a total feeling of peace, rest and you just feel so safe, and secure, in my mind, His image is a little bit like drawings of jesus that i usually see, but it goes beyond the image, because, The sensation that comes with his presence cannot be described through words, nor reproduced in any painting, Jesus i Love you with all my Heart, and iam so glad you are here with me. love christelle

Beloved I'm gonna join ya here and share one my "devotionals", I write in my blog every chance I get to keep an account of what my new life in Christ has to bring, the good and the "bad". This one I wrote while going through a "rough" time in my life this year where I did what I know was righteous in God's eyes but the outcome was not what I had expected so I was confused and complaining and doubting but the Lord is always there to take care of His kids and this is what he made me realize at the moment: "Counting my blessings God is definitely patient and merciful. Here I am complaining about worthless issues of no importance, ignoring what is really infront of me. The Lord's blessings. I have a wonderful family, sure we have our problems and are as dysfunctional as the next family, but we are together. Living under a wonderful roof, we are well fed, and well clothed. We are blessed. And that is what is important. History is certainly repeating but I believe it to be God's will so that I can finally see the other side of the coin and realize what is important in my life now. As I compare my life back then with my life now (A life without God vs. a life with God) I can see that amongst the adversities I am truly blessed by the Lord. I'm like that song, the Beautiful Letdown "Painfully uncool, The church of the dropouts, The losers, the sinners, the failures and the fools". But filled with God's spirit, Born Again. Truly blessed. Free of the power of sin, although not of its presence. And finally, Forgiven. So I join my brother in Christ David in his cry out to the lord in psalm 57 verses 7-11: "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth." Bless you all!! and may the Lord knock on your doors each and everyday giving you the chance of a lifetime to answer and be free! Rita M." Blessings! - Rita

Hi rita, quote:

Free of the power of sin, although not of its presence. And finally, Forgiven. thanks so much for this one!! I also tend to forget about my blessings when facing adversity. One thing that god has given me , since my mind renewal, is the ability to view every single trial and difficulty as a training session, and education that will only bring me closer to my beautiful Savior. What a relief to know that even when i feel like i am in a desert, He is still there, watching over me!! So yes, i now count my blessings, and the greatest is the fact that i am now a true daughter of Christ, who lives to please Him. Love sister, christelle

Awesome, awesome posts, ladies! You both bring such glory and honor to our Jesus. Please keep them coming. Oh how the world needs to see the Jesus that we love so! Oh how the world needs to see that, even tho we struggle just like the ones who don't know our precious Jesus, yet, we have the blessed assurance of Romans: Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Amen! Amen! Amen!

Jesus Christ... God WAS one of us.. there is no "what if" to it. Jesus Christ did that which tore the veil of Law. He fulfilled it. Now we walk in Grace. Sin is forgiven, the Law can't punish us. He's the Fire in my soul. He's the "You are forgiven, child, let's nevermind what you did, it's already forgiven, stay with me." He's the "I love you like you were the only human being alive." He's the "You will go through many trials, but I will be with you." He's the "Give love to others as they need to be loved, don't seek your own love in them." He's the "I am your Father, I am your Friend, the Beginning and the End." He's my Counsellor. He's my brother in arms. He's a Mighty Warrior, He's the Lion of Judah, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. Sovreign.
