This site, this forum has been one of the most fascinating to read so far! It's awsome to see each individual as "one fingerprint being different from the other." How AWSOME is OUR God!. Meaning we are so unique! Each heart expresses themselves in such beauty (for you ladies) and (for us men) in such key areas of who are and in what makes us tick/operate (ex-grease monkey USN, talking here, smiling). And (for both genders) our self expression whether single, widowed, or married, it's so good to see all of you share so openly in relation to where we have been and where we are today/to go. My spirit is touched, by each one of you, because you are just being you, on this forum. Thanks for your personal testimonies, thanks for sharring as you are, thanks for the laughter easily expressed here in your good sense of being "just you" and thank you for being here. Please continue, people are getting blessed here! I am a Men after God's own heart. I claim the Messianic Lineage, due to the silence that has been kept from me whenever I've asked about my herritage to other relatives. My Grand Mother:Scottish,Irish Jew and my Grand Father from Portugal,Spain. Because of persecutions in Europe at that time and place, they had sought refuge down to South America. As a child I've experienced life, such of the lassy TV series, having had a loyal pet by my side (I have many stories for those who may want to ask).I lived a short time in NYC as a young boy, blessed by Christian & Missionary Alliance HDQ's early 70's. Lived a short time in Nyack, NY sorrounded by Christian Missionary kids(Elementary age + 1 Yr in High Sch). Lived the majority of my young teen age years, in Monsey, NY sorrounded by Hassidic and Orthodox Jews. Joined the USN (80-84). Military:Shore-FL,Sea-USS Nimitz(And many other stories to tell as well). Drove cross country on my Z-28 Camero (which I miss not having it anymore)along family to live in AZ in 85. I've lived in WA State for 4.5 years. Now, in AZ-presently to enter school to be an Electrician with hope to also learn HVAC. Attend-a Baptist Church, really enjoy my mature Sunday School Class, I'm returning this Sunday to help in a Food Bank Ministry. And Praying that God's Will, may open a new permanent place to reside after graduation, either by the Ocean or by the Mountains some where in the USA. Oh...I'm 45. Sad to say, No longer married, since 2003.

FIRST: As a personal aside, I would like to dedicate this thread to one of my beloved friends, SirFreddyBear; aka Fred77usa; aka FreddyMark. He was a moderator here and he also started this very thread. He went home to be with Our Lord just very recently (8/15/06).

SirFreddyBear - thank you for your friendship and thank you for being such a glorious reflection of Our Lord's Light.
My love and my appreciation for you, and my prayers for your family.
Rest in Peace, my friend.

Sharon-Marie,

I guess I haven't read this thread since 2005. I was just thinking about how cool I think Fred is, and then I saw your message here. Even though it's almost been a year, I'm still sad.

I love what you said about him.

quote:

Ray . . . Your new name is Bump? OR you like to do the Bump?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Life changes . . . and apparently, so do some aspects of who we are (at least, I have found that to be true in my life).

I'm still Sharon-Marie (or Shar-Mar . . . a nickname given to me by some of y'all here on Crosswalk / Faith Community - of which, I've been a member of for over 5 years).

My age constantly changes . . . for instance I was 41 when I first posted in this thread; now I'm 42 . . . but only for a couple more weeks - and then (soon) I'll be 43.
Amazing how I can figure all that out.

I was married in 1982 . . . and divorced in 1983.
I married again in 2004 . . . and was widowed in 2005.

I cannot believe that's been two years ago. I hope you're doing well. Many blessings.

quote:

Currently, I'm single.

I have no children . . . but I do have a birth-child that was born in 1984; and whom I placed for adoption after his birth. I have thought of and prayed for him many, many times these past 22 years.

At the moment, I live out in the Beautiful Wild, Wild West, under the Shadows of the Grand Tetons.

BUT! I'm also currently exploring other possiblities as to where I can call home.

As far as gender, I'm sure y'all can figure that one out . . . at least I hope you can.

HIS Peace and HIS Joy, y'all!
Sharon-Marie

I don't remember if I ever posted in this thread or just read it, and I guess I"m too lazy to look.

So...

Name: Lisa

Gender: Female (I don't think I know any male Lisas, but hey, there are so many Lisas, there might be some).

Age: 48 (too young to be that old )

Location: Hayden, Colorado (outside of Steamboat Springs)

Occupation: Too many things to list. I'll just say that I love problem solving and I can give my opinion at the drop of a hat, so I tend to be drawn to things that allow me to do those -- hence my participation on this site. LOL!

Marital status: Married 24 years to a real piece of work (and I mean that in a good way ).

Have four kids: three girls (18, 16, and 7) and one boy (14). They are great kids! I sometimes want to pinch myself to make sure I haven't just dreamed someone as undeserving as me has been so blessed with such interesting and good hearted kids. Having a blast with them even though sometimes I'm clueless about this parenting thang. Glad the Lord and my husband are around to handle things with me.

Other:

I've been a musician all of my life. Have played an instrument of some kind longer than I remember doing anything. I'm particularly drawn to playing jazz, but I love pieces from just about every type of music, and I have been writing music since I was pretty little. So glad there will be music in heaven.

I'm also an avid reader, but I wasn't always. I despised it when I was a kid. The only thing I hated more was writing. I would have rather someone beat me with a big stick than have to write. It's a miracle that I got an education. Well, on second thought, it might have had something to do with the big paddle my dad kept in the kitchen. Early on that helped me get myself straight enough to read even though I did hate it, and then I learned to appreciate reading in college. But I don't think I truly enjoyed reading until about the time I graduated from college. I haven't looked back. I hope and pray my kids are not as dumb or obstinate as I was. So far they don't seem to be. Thank you, Lord!

I really like the forums because it gives a place for us to discuss issues that we may not have time to discuss in person with people in our own personal lives. It is God's way of connecting his people.

Welcome, High_Hopes and others!

Can't remember if I've posted in here or not, so here goes:

I'm Female obviously and 37 years old.

I'm a Single mom of one teenager. He's really awesome and about to start college in the Fall. In fact, I decided to start back to school to work on a Master's degree at the same time.

I recently (about a year ago) started attending a mega-church (baptist) with a single's group and love it. It's my first real experience in a single's group, so I'm finding it's a very interesting experience.

I have been a social worker for about 10 years. I enjoy it very much, but am looking to go into some sort of research in the near future.

Hobbies: Watching the Bucs play football (even when they lose - I'm a diehard fan). Reading, cooking, playing flute, home improvement projects, especially furniture restoration.

I love reading Bios!

Name- Littlest_lamb, you want the real one you'll have to ask, and give a few good reasons
Age- 20
Sex- Female
Local- Colorado, born in Alaska, lived in Florida, New Mexico, and California
Single, so no kids or anything like that. I do however love animals!

Currently have 1 horse who is an absolute sweetie! One bird, 2 fish, and a dog. I used to have a few more pets but I still live at home and mom has said no more.

I am planning on majoring in wildlife biology or Oceanography (I know, I know, a little weird coming from a land locked person ) at least if I can make it out of chemistry and calculus ever

I want to travel, a lot. Europe, Africa, South America, India, etc. My goal is to stand on all the continents I think I am a pretty adventuresome person.

Like- Christians, people who love horses (animals in general), being outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing etc.
Dislike- Rude people, bad drivers in the snow, marshmallows, over played christmas music, I love the classic songs, but if I hear the "Christmas Shoes" song one more time my head will explode

Hello, all. My name is Lisa (aka Hazel2). I am 35 and have two little babies (15m and 3m). I have been married to the love of my life for two years. I am a stay at home mom in Connecticut about an hour out of the big city. I love what I do! When I worked, I was a VP at a global bank. I am an avid book collector and reader. I have a love of music, semi formal entertaining, and horses. Winter is my favorite time of the year because I love taking hot baths and sitting by fires and drinking cocoa.

My goals this year are to have another baby and grow closer to God by seeking him in prayer and by studying his word. My walk with him has been more of a meander lately, and I don't like the feeling!

I've been posting for almost a year here.
