Almost bad enough to make you vote against the side with the most annoying ad...

Like you, I'm so glad we don't have to have those political ads anymore. They were SO annoying!

So Amy, what did you think of your first election?

Anybody ready for Christmas?

We're madly trying to get all of our mailing done before Monday as John has hernia surgery on Monday. He won't be able to drive, and Joan won't drive the car that we have the loan of. (Our car died BIG TIME and we need a new one, but don't have the finances to buy one). Having to rely on God for that need.

My mailout is over. I have a couple of things that I want to buy, then it's just a matter of wrapping the gifts up. Christmas is going to be a quiet affair at our house, with John having had surgery earlier on this week. He can't do much for the next 3 months, so it sure is going to be interesting around here.

What about for the rest of you?

Well...I haven't even started on my Chrissy shopping yet...so you're well ahead of me. I went up to the Gold Coast last weekend and I thought I might do my shopping then, but I was having too much fun and I kinda forgot.

I pray that John will recover quickly and that you are able to cope.

Thanks Amy. John is recovering a lot better than he was the last hernia op he had earlier this year.

Just got the wrapping to do, the cards for those in our household, and I'm done. Never thought I'd see the day, this year.

Well...I did all my Christmas shopping on Saturday. Mind you, I'm only buying for my immediate family and a couple friends, but it's all done now.

I get really stressed out if I only have a short period of time to get my Christmas shopping done. That's why I shop year round.

Just have to finish the wrapping.

g'day and Kia ora everyone

Just dropped in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Not much happening here everything is shut down - the Pool (just when I had persuaded everyone(I hope) that I was improving!!) and the Indoor Bowls (how I miss it too). However Meals on Wheels is still on the go - even managed to get a couple of extra days over the break and a few more are likely as people go missing or just plain crook.

See you in the New Year - We can all work on that one - if we watch our diet - Ha!

I finally got my tree decorated today. We don't have an actual Christmas tree because of room. But we have this huge cone-shaped lamp which makes a perfect 'Christmas tree'. So today I wound fifteen strands of tinsel around it, so now my crazy weave lamp is a purple and silver tinsel Christmas tree.

Now I just have to get some matching green and silver tinself to decorate the cane basket I keep the presents in.

Hi everybody. Good to see some movement in here.

Amy, I know the feeling. I could go nuts shopping if I didn't stop myself.

Buddy! Good to see you! I was actually just thinking about you earlier today. Sounds like things are busy for you.

Kylie, what a good idea using a lamp instead of a tree. I'd never have thought of that.

Did some more wrapping tonight. I can't believe Christmas is only 6 days away!

I got X's present today. J's is organised but not yet here. We also bought a large joint present for J and X. Dh apparently has my present sorted. So that just leaves me to get dh's done and Christmas shopping is out of the way with still a number of days left before Christmas.

Glad you're so organised.

I've still got a couple of things to get. John needs some more sneakers as his are shocking. Going to try and get him some more today. Going to try and get Bailey some exelpet shampoo. I've been looking everywhere for it, and can't find it anywhere. I wonder if they've stopped making it.

Greetings all you aussies and Kiwis

I hope you all have a happy Christmas and blessings for the new year. Enjoy the heat -if you are in a hot land while i freeze in this cold one.

We had a huge dumping of snow last week but it will all be washed away with the rain coming next week - so it looks like its going to be a green Christmas. Personally i would love to be in Perth on that day sweltering in the heat and melting from the cold.
I get to spend a week with my little boy who hopefully will come home permanently in February/March. Life will certaiinly change then.

I hope all is well with you all

Rain is good and now that my lawn is mowed I'd be happy to have some more.

It's nice and cool at the moment, but Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here are supposed to be 38 degrees. I'm not looking forward to it.

Updated weather. 39 for Christmas Day, 40 for Boxing Day. They reckon we're heading for the hottest Christmas period on record since 1915.

Merry Christmas everybody.

WOW...that's really hot!! It will be like that over New Years for us in SA.

Merry Christmas!

Aussie Jingle Bells

Dashing through the bush, in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust, esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut !,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

Engine's getting hot; we dodge the kangaroos,
The swaggie climbs aboard, he is welcome too.
All the family's there, sitting by the pool,
Christmas Day the Aussie way, by the barbecue.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

Come the afternoon, Grandpa has a doze,
The kids and Uncle Bruce, are swimming in their clothes.
The time comes 'round to go, we take the family snap,
Pack the car and all shoot through, before the washing up.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden ute

Colin Buchanan

I didn't realise it was a Colin Buchanan song.

We're having a fairly mild Christmas morning.

Dh and the kids have just finished assembling the trampoline and now I think J and X have disappeared into their rooms to enjoy their individual presents.

We had breakfast on dh's new bbq this morning and plan to cook outside all day - marinated chicken marylands, steak, prawns and salads.

X made blue jelly in wine glasses last night and we bought a pavlova shell as J can't have Christmas pudding.
