ok, you have made the statement, where would one find the proof of what was said, and the context of what was said?

my turn, if he made the dumb 9 trinity statement, which I believe he did way back in 1990, and retracted it to his entire assembly, and even in Christianity today article, can he not be forgiven for it.
and when one chooses to throw this out there, why would they not throw out that he retracted the statement the same week he said it.
I am glad that God is big enough to forgive him for saying such a dumb thing.

Like I said Moody, I think its a very fair question...this is done everyday, and I see it done on these forums alot. I did not post for an argument with you or with anyone else for that matter....it was a comment. And yes, I know, you are responding to my comment, and I respect you on that, but in all honesty, people's words are taken out of context, and you know that as well as I do, whether you will admit it or not. There are people that clearly see Hinn as a false teacher and some who dont....and we should respect one another on that, and no matter what your views maybe here, I wont judge you on them, but I will show you respect and kindness on your beliefs.



It is also the point of this thread to discuss Benny Hinn and whether he is a false teacher or not. What I see is the people who claim he is a false teacher have a whole thread full of video and text evidence that he is and the people who don't believe is a false teacher have alot of "Don't judge".

Now I would like nothing more than for Benny Hinn to repent and either leave the cespool that is TBN or use his show to teach some solid Biblical truths. Like I said before if he did that I would be in line to shake his hand. If any of the evidence in this thread is taken out of context, please show me. Not just you, anybody.

Just as it is the responsibility of those who believe he is a false teacher, it is the responsibility of those defending him to prove he is not. If i have overlooked the posts where you did this, please remind me of some exact post numbers.

Sorry to bring the 9 person God head up again, but I finally caught up reading this thread.

Way back in 90-92, sometime like this Benny Hinn applied for credentials with the Assemblies of God.

They had a special service at Central A/G in Springfield Missouri, where Thomas Trask, then General Superintendent, Benny Hinn, the President of the A/G Theological Seminary (can't remember his name) had a open session with many A/G ministers who could attend. Benny gave his testimony of why he wanted to go into the A/G, the leadership shared their fears and worries as well.

Benny then got up and began to explain many of his beliefs he said at that time he disavowed. One of them was the 9 God head comment. He admitted he made the statement, but he said he made it as a joke, and he shouldn't have and it went too far and caused to many problems. He stated he did not believe in a 9 person God head.

He also stated that they were having to go through all his old teaching and remove all his aberrant theology.

He made a joke about some of the tapes they just had to throw away because all was left after editing was blank tapes.

They prayed for him as the leadership of the A/G, then announced a healing service at Central A/G that night.

What was the result of all this? 6-9 months later (could have been longer, my memory is not that good anymore) Benny either left the A/G, or was asked to leave, and picked up many of the aberrant doctrines that he had once disavowed.

How am I aware of all this? Well, during that time, I was credentialed with the A/G, and I was a huge fan of Benny's. I was so excited that he was becoming a part of the movement. A/G's publishing house - Gospel Publishing House was selling the video's of the session back then. So while I wasn't there, I watched it several times because I purchased them.

I doubt if GPH stills sells the video any more.

Two things have changed for me - no longer A/G credentialed, plus no longer a fan of BH.

I just wanted to share what I heard him say from the VHS of that meeting, all those years ago.

Interesting....if i wanted to know about E.W. Kenyon. I know he supposedly started WOF, but i was talking about Hinn.

Also, can you please address my question to you about Benny Hinn's curses and death threats against my staff, my family, myself?

It was directed to us directly and then it applies to any and all that would even dare question his teachings, claims and failed prophecies in light of Scripture.

If you are indeed making light of such a thing, then so be it. It shall speak volumes of your intentions in this thread and towards anyone that does what Scripture says we are to do.

Yes. I can't believe there's not more mentioned of that. The video says Heroin is the drug they're tooting on.
The video of his wife "preaching" about the enema is as pathetic as well. If you watch it, see if you notice how lethargic she sounds.

I remember one time Steve Brock came to my former church and sang and had grey hair and I would see him on TBN (back when I didn't know better) with grey hair. Then a few years later I was flipping by TBN and he had brown hair! Not saying there's anything wrong with dying your hair, just my Steve Brock antecdote. Just kind of like hoping people don't notice your new toupee when you've been bald for years. [:D]

Does anyone else wonder why we often hear of ministers visiting somewhere in South America with huge crowds in attendance and unheard --and undocumented-- miracles taking place?

Now I know most of the posters here are out on Benny as I am, but there are others also, and if one hundred thousand to a half-million get saved every time we hear about it, there ought to be a huge amount of Christians on that continent.

The miracles? That I just don't believe...and neither do they...because if they seriously believed God was healing in South America they would tell every sick person to go there, and they don't.

These "third world" mission trips need to be examined more thoroughly be us Christians. I think many of these guys like Hinn are predatory con men praying on the poor peoples of the world and so many so called miracles are easy to push off on the superstitious and naive. Also, many of these same folks are getting "saved" at every event . . . do they really understand salvation or are they just looking for hope in their miserable lives?

Rwanda is a nation where many folks were converted, many "miracles" took place and within a year or two mass genocide occurred. A lot of converts but not many real Christians.

I think this needs to be investigated . . . seriously by us who take miracles and healing seriously and know that they are not a dime a dozen or something that can be distributed by the hands of preachers.

Wow. It took me three days ~~ not all at once mind you ~~ to read this entire thread. All I have to say is Wow.

Thank you, Earthless, for telling a portion of your testimony; it is inspirational.

I grew up in a very conservative church, my dad was a pastor, and my mom's side of the family was in the pentacostal holiness circles. When visiting my grandparents while growing up I got to see some real interesting happenings their church.

As a young man a leaned toward the pentacostal, rather enjoyed the music, and, I guess to be honest, the theatrics. I, got sucked into a lot of this WoF teaching, and really believed it. I watched BH on T.V., and even went to a crusade. AFter the crusade I stopped watching him, and felt robbed just having gone.

Since then, as I am now in my forties, I still like the charismatics, but have really got down to the basics I grew up with (Wesleyan/Methodist), and really make sure God's word is being presented correctly. There are some very strange teachings out there and I know for certain our friend B.H. is giving out more than he needs to.

I am actually very saddened, and hurt in the pit of my stomach for people who are led astray by these tools of satan.

Anyway, don't necessarily want to give rebirth to this thread, just thought I would add my two cents for what they're worth.

It was a big 'show' with little to no substance ~~ weighing heavy on the latter. There was a lot of busy stuff going on, introductions of the local sheeple pastors who were really almost bowing to the man onstage, a lot of talk about nothing really. The message portion was short and was all about having faith, that only having true faith can one be healed, and so on.

Having watched the show on t.v., of course they only highlight the best parts, then sitting in a crowded stadium for over three hours and seeing pretty much nothing happened really made me sad. I had gone for an 'experience' as did thousands of others, but what I got was sheer disappointment.

As we left, multitudes of people, and you could see it on their faces, looked downtrodden and depressed.

You know when BH throws his hands and the audience falls as one? Here's how he does it; he has everyone hold hands ~~ the spirit won't anoint unless everyone is holding hands ~~ then when he waves his hands and exclaims 'fire!' People start 'falling' backward all over the stadium, why? Because the person on each side of you makes you fall backward because they have your hands. It's an interesting experience, one that is pretty obvio0us ~~ I guess not obvious enough for it to happen at each 'crusade.'

It was a long time ago, I was young and impressionable. I have matured a lot since then. [:D]
