I still faithfully use mine! And I love it. No smell, less mess and my period is shorter. It saves on money too. And now that I know how to put it in I don't have the mess I used to. Only on my first heavy day do I need to be careful about how long I leave it in. I flow so heavily on the first day that I fill it up. In an hour sometimes. And well it can overflow. But other than being vigilant about it I have no problems! And I love that hubby doesn't have to be grossed out by the trashcan once a month.

I like mine and use it for about half of my usual AF time, but I keep noticing that its started giving me tummy issues (gas and being "backed up"). I use cloth pads for my lighter days.

I read through some of the early posts but not all 21 pages! Thanks everyone for the info. Much appreciated. I'd been curiuos for a while but never knew who to ask. Is there now one made in the US in stores? I saw something at Walmart a month or so ago but don't remember the name or anything. I was too chicken to try it.

The one you saw in walmart was very likely the "Instead" cup.
For a decent run down of the differences between the instead cup and other cups check out THIS SITE(answers.com menstrual cup article)
Some Whole foods stores carry the Diva.
I have used the Instead as well as the Diva. I prefer the Diva.
BOTH have a learning curve, so which ever you choose stick with it for 3 or 4 cycles. remember when you started your cycle and using tampons? You made mess after mess then while learning how to do that. You possibly freaked a few times too. What? You don't recall? Possibly blocked that memory eh?  I think it is one we'd rather forget too.
For me the diva is great- no leaks... no mess... I have had my diva two years this month!
The instead cup is a whole different design. Some experience a bit of spotting with it when they go to the bathroom. The sitting and bearing down causers the cup to move a tiny bit and this allows a bit of menstrual fluid to escape. So if you try the instead don't freak if you find you have a bit of menstrual fluid on your TP when you wipe. I was never able to perfect the Instead removal. My cervix is tipped and the instead cup would catch on it when I removed it causing pain, a longer cycle, and cramping. I decided that it wouldn't work with my personal physiology and ordered the Diva.
My tipped cervix caused issues with the instead- some women that have shorter vaginal cavity may find that the diva cup a bit too long. Some can cut the stem off and be fine others need to try a shorter cup(Mooncup UK or Lunette). The diva is the longest of the cups. I have not had to trim any of the stem off mine.
There is also the Keeper(Natural rubber- brown) and the Keeper "Moon Cup"(silicone) To avoid confusion PLEASE note that the Keeper "Moon Cup" IS NOT the same as- never has been... never will be - as the Mooncup UK.

I guess I have to get a new one once the baby is born. I don't know if I should stick with the diva or try something else. I'm not sure...

So I have read all 21 pages of this thread LOL. And you all have me convinced. So I went out and bought a pack of instead cups today. I have been having problems recently with my tampons. They were fine and all of a sudden after about the 3rd day, it really hurts to have it up there. I don't know if I am starting to have a reaction or what, but I was so happy to find this thread.
I used it today to get a feel for it and it was so easy. To me it was just like having a diaphram. I can't wait to try this out. Hopefully this will be the end of the pain of tampons.

Note- the instead cups can be a bit messy. Go to the toilet with a wash rag for your hands. Oh and expect a tiny bit of "smudging" after you use the bathroom w/o actually changing the instead- I won't call it leakage or spotting but there may be a bit of color on your tissue as well as smudging in your scivvies. there is something about "voiding" (that'd be urinating and or defecating) that pushed the Instead a bit and breaks the seal. It seals back up when you stand but...
The insteads are awesome for those who do not want to go the route of the cup or have had a bad experience with the cup as I believe one of our number here has- I believe that she did go to the insteads... didn't she. I don't recall which she she is though so I cant ask.

I'm pretty happy with the Instead, too. I can't use the other cups for some physiological reasons, but the Instead works for me especially on my lighter days. Sometimes, I have problems when I am flowing heavily (much heavier than most women), and need to use tampons.

She is still not comfortable with it. Not so much it as the having to touch that part of her body I think. She said the last try 3 cycles ago- that she could fold it and get the lip of it inserted but that it hurt so she stopped and removed it. I told her to take a break because being frustrated would only tense her up and make insertion worse.
She is a virgin- I have never really gone over how there can be variations in the hymen with her. it is very possible that she has one of those variations that is causing her problem. If it were any other lady with the same issue I'd suggest perineal massage like some OB-GYN's suggest during your 3rd trimester but I honestly think she'd freak at the suggestion... *Shrug*
I am not calling it a bust at this point. I think that once we get past the touching self in that area she will wonder why she took so long making it happen. Sad thing is I know that they got their disgust for their cycle from me. I used to absolutely HATE it. Now it is just another thing that my body does.

I wear a pantyliner with the cup (well, when I'm actually getting my period that is - that hasn't happened in awhile for some reason  ). The only reason you should need to use one is on the heavier days, when you remove the cup to empty/clean it out, the blood keeps dripping, so when you re-insert it, some may have been "missed" during the cleaning time, so that will still drip out - but it should be minimal, hence the pantyliner. Other than that, I don't leak.

I just boiled mine (in plain water) and it still has an "off" odor to it. I don't really want to use soap since I have sensitive skin- any other ideas?
