Hi I'm Jody and I am homeschooling 5 children. They are ages 14 down to 5, 2 boys and 3 girls!

We are using lapbooking and unit studies for social studies, Cornerstone for Math and Science and we also do Art and Music once a week.

Nice to meet all of you!

Hello I'm Mouse5. I'm the mother of three ornery but loveable kids ages 8,6,4. This is my second official year of schooling the kids though I have worked with them since they were born. Never really planned on schooling them myself even with my husbands insistence until I went to enroll my oldest into kindergarten. That was when I felt God telling me not to complete the enrollment and to school them at home. So far I've been blessed by the experience even through the trials and struggles.
All three of my kids are constantly trying to find ways to get out of book work. It's quite humorous to watch and even more humorous when they find out they still have to do their book work.
I can't think of anything else to put here so I'll end with a nice to meet everyone and I look forward to being a part of the community.

Hello everyone,
This is my first year to homeschool my son. I was one of those that had no interest in homeschooling when I was called to do this last year. We are using the abeka curriculum. It has gone very well and we are so blessed. We felt especially blessed during the holidays...not as much rush and stress. What a blessing.
May the Lord be with each of you.

Hi Everyone,
I am a Homeschooling mom to 3 children. We are in our 3rd year of homeschooling. I feel blessed to have found this goup for support and encouragement. The topics I have read so far are right on target, and have already helped make this journey all the better.
Thank you for allowing me to take part in this community.

I'm Kara, mom of 4.5 children (baby due in August) ... 7g,5b,2b,1b and wife of Scott.

This year we have been using A Beka, but that isn't working for our 5yo, and our 7yo is getting bored as well. We will be transitioning to unit studies and lapbooks next year (this was more of a 'getting our feet wet' year) I really like the flexibility of HS -- I can't imagine life with the rigidity of 'real school', even though dh and I were there our whole childhood!

Take care!
Kara

God's Blessings to you and yours

Hello I just found this group and I am excited by what I have read so far. My soul is so thirsty for a group of "like minded" people who homeschool for the Glory of God!

We didn't start homeschooling for this purpose, but now God's glory is our only purpose.

When my husband suggested homeschooling 10 years ago, my reaction was one of horror--"Only Weird fanatical people do that!!" Well guess what-- I am now one of those fanatical people!!

I have 5 wonderful (well most of the time) children--BW is 16, BM is 14, MB is 10, MK is 9 and Kolle is 5. {2 boys & 3 girls} We are also hoping to adopt. I HS and I do day care for 4 preschoolers.

Well enough about me I just wanted to introduce myself.

Blessings Venicia D. aka dottedmom

Hi! I've been hsing for about six years, and am so glad to find crazy people like me who homeschool for Christ, but also to help them excel in what He's given them. I have two great kids (12 and 10) who have learned to do a lot on their own, while I fumble around trying to find new and cool stuff for them to dig into. I hope this forum will open up even more ideas! I'm looking forward to it!

Hi, I'm Stella and I homeschool my 12yo dd who is in 6th grade. We decided before we even had her that we would homeschool our children. It has proven to be the most challenging yet enjoyable time. I look forward to learning new things and sharing with all of you.

Hi --

New to this site -- we have homeschooled for 4 years now. We have 9yob, 7yob, 5yog in grades 3, 2, and K respectively. Tried cyber schools, eclectic traditional homeschool and next year, a unit study curriculum in a "box". Anyone out there use My Father's World?? Good to be here....

Hi, I'm Tammy and we are HS my 6 yo, 4 yo and well the little 2 yo likes to be included too. We have experimented w/ some curriculum and hopefully our choice for the fall will be the best fit yet. If anyone is from upstate NY, I'd especially like to hear from you (and please let me know if you are a part of any local support groups). Thanks and blessings to you all in your endeavor!

We tried MFW K (better than what we had before, but not quite what we needed so we will be using something else for 1st grade, although there are parts I loved). Are you using MFW?

Hello everyone! I am a grandmother who has now successfully completed our first year of at home schooling, in Hallowed Halls High School! My Girls did pretty well, considering the circumstances under which they were beginning their new school adventure. Math is our worst problem - nightmare! Do you have any suggestions how I can help them catch up on math when I am really NO help? We are doing Switched On Schoolhouse 2007, and liked it a lot. The math, though doesn't thoroughly explain things, and when they are already lost, it is no help at all. We have tried looking up that particular type of math on Internet and found some helpful explanations there. If I don't come up with some plan for this year, I may have to resort to a tutor. So come on, and fire away - I await your expertise!
