Good evening everybody!

How are you all this evening? I would just like to let you all know about the exciting weekend I just had. I went up to the Gold Coast in Queensland. Jesse was already up there and with a couple of his friends on the 22nd floor of the Chevron Renaissance building. It was such a nice view and was a really nice apartment. (PM me with your email address and I can send you photos)

Thursday I spent most of the day flying. My flight left Adelaide at 7.10am and I arrived at Coolengatta airport at 11am. I managed to accidentally pick up the wrong bag at the airport and I didn't know until about 2 hours later when I needed to get something out. It then took an $80 return taxi trip to get the airport and back to pick up my bag.

Friday me, Jesse and a friend went to Habour Town. I spent over $200. Totally worth it though.

On Saturday we all went to Movieworld. It was so much fun. I'd never been on a roller coaster before. It was so much fun!! I went on the Superman Escape ride twice, the Scooby Doo ride 4 times and the Wild West ride 2 times.

Sunday me and Jesse flew home...we got back about 5.30 and went to a youth Christmas dinner. I got home about 9.30 and went straight to bed. I fell asleep so quickly.

It was the beginning of the Lobethal lights festival so the town is lit up all prettily. Ah, Christmas, such a wonderful joyful season. Hot lazy days, warm nights...what could be better!

God bless to you all and have a safe and merry Christmas and happy new year!

Amy.

Merry Christmas everyone! I pray that God keeps you and your families safe over this holiday period as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus!
Today my mum is working so we'll wait for her to get home to have lunch and then we're having family over for dinner. We opened a couple presents each last night before bed and I got a digital camera! So I'll be able to capture all the fun times these holidays!

Tomorrow my cousin and I are in charge of a Boxing Day Christmas event...so we've been busy delegating what each person is to bring along. It's going to be fun!

Also, as I sign off for today, I would like to add a touch of Australia to the classic Christmas carol "Jingle Bells". It's not really very relevant here as it doesn't snow at Christmastime. (If it did that would be a true Christmas miracle!) The author of this song if a great Christian children's performer.

Dashing through the bush, in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust, esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut !,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

(see the rest of the song here)

Hello everybody!

Wow, it has been a very long time since my last post!! Ever since I came back from our Christmas break I've been flat out at work and with other things. There's been quite a few dramas going on that have kept stress levels high and the atmosphere in the office quite tense. To keep the story short our junior Director and PA were fired and I was offered the PA job, which I've taken and am enjoying quite a lot. It took 2 weeks to find a new receptionist (to fill my previous position) but the girl we have now is brilliant! She's a really quick learner and is just really nice.

During the past 6-7 weeks I've had band practice for an 18+ Christian camp (Fuel) that I'm going on this long weekend (here in South Australia anyway - Adelaide Cup) It's been once a week and normally one day out of my week is fine, but last week I was so busy. It went like this. Sunday night - play at church, Monday night - Fuel band prac, Tuesday night - Church band prac, Wednesday night - Cards night (social night with friends), Thursday - Visit friend - ended up going out to dinner, Friday night - Youth group, Saturday - Visit grandparents, Saturday night - Girls night out, Sunday - Church, tennis wind-up, Sunday night - Church, Monday night - Fuel band prac, Last night - breathe! do washing. So needless to say, come last night I was quite exhausted.

And a few weeks ago (3 now I think) Jesse was in a car accident. His fault, only car involved. He wrote off the car that he was in, but luckily he was relatively unharmed (headache & cut on his leg) Not a particularly pleasant night for me though. (His mum rang me up saying, "have you spoken to Jesse lately" Me - "He was going to a meeting" His Mum - "He rang us saying he had a car accident" - silence - "I'll let you know more when we find out" I tried ringing Jesse's phone but it was flat)

So yeah ... it's been an interesting last month.

For those of you who read my blog, sorry about the wait and I hope you are all well.

God bless.

Good afternoon, how are you all this fine day?

I highly doubt you hear about Australian weather where you are so I’ll fill you in on what Adelaide has had to sweat through. The previous record (set when records began) was 8 days above 35*C (95*F) We are now currently on our 14th day above 35. Over the first weekend the lowest forecast temp was 38*C (100*F), highest being 42*C (107*F). We also set a record for overnight temperatures as well. We had an overnight low of 30*C (86*F). For autumn these temperatures are unheard of so you can image my delight when I hear that there is going to be a cool change tomorrow: it will be just 30*C! Isn’t it strange to think that 30 will be a cool change.

Over the first weekend where it was 42 the majority of the weekend I was at a Christian Camp/Conference called Fuel. It’s for over 18’s and was actually quite thought-provoking. I really enjoyed it (and the music =P) and am looking forward to going back next year.

It was my younger brother’s Confirmation yesterday so we had lots of family over for lunch. It was great fun!

So that’s what has been happening in my life lately. Perhaps sometime this week I’ll actually be able to turn the fan off in my room.

I pray you’re all well and not suffering under such extremes.

Amy.

Happy Easter everybody...I hope you all had a safe and relaxing long weekend.

Well...our heat wave broke ... 15 days above 35 though. Insane.

Last week Jesse found a car at an online car sales website that he was looking for (he's been looking for a while now). He spoke to the guy and found out stuff about the car and then on Tuesday rang him and said, I really want it. If possible can I pick it up on the long weekend? So at midday on Sunday Jesse and I flew across to Sydney to this guys house and drove the car home on Monday. It was a huge trip. 1,300km. We drove about 300km Sunday night to where we had booked to stay on the other side of the Blue Mountains and then drove for about 15hours on Monday. We met up with a mate in West Wyalong and he and Jesse took it in turns driving from there. We got back home last night at 11.30pm. Both myself and Jesse had to get up at about 6.30 this morning for work. I don't know how he's feeling but I am exhausted!

But exciting news for today ... it's raining!! When we were in Sydney I just could not get over how green everything was! Back home everything is dry brown and dying but Sydney was so green. Hopefully with the rain we got today it will bring everything back to life stop everywhere from being so dangerous for fires.

God bless you all!!

Amy.

Hello everyone.

I really need to start posting a little more frequently. What should I start by saying? I'll try and get this chronologically.

April 12 I had a cocktail party at my place. I think I spent about $240 (approx) on food and spirits. I got people to pay $10-15 to help cover costs. No one minded, as they're all uni students and know what a bargin $15 is for unlimited cocktails and food. My parents and brothers were all up in QLD on a holiday so I had the house to myself (the main reason I decided to have a cocktail party then). While my parents aren't against alcohol, they don't drink it, and I figured it's probably not such a good thing to keep them up heaps late. And I did clear everything with them before they left.

April 24 I organised for my friends and I to go bowling. Being a public holiday and all I felt like a nice relaxing day. I got 18 people bowling and a couple more rocked up late so all th lanes were full, but they didn't mind watching. I managed to get 124 on my first game but not even 100 on the second. Jesse was on the phone (doing phone support...the joys of being on call) and he was actually bowling better than when he put the phone down. [actually, the guy on the other end was like "are you bowling?" Jesse: "yeah...it's my turn soon" Guy: "do you wanna put the phone down?" Jesse: "no, it's OK . . *jesse bowls* yeah, you got me a spare man!"]

April 27 Jesse and I had out 4-year anniversary. We went out for lunch, which was nice. We didn't really plan to do anything heaps special as Jesse was on call for work so he had to be ready to leave at the drop of a hat (so to speak).

May 4 Jesse convinced me to go along to the Toyota Car Club Poker Cruise (which he has decided to join now that he has a Lexus). It was actually a lot of fun. We drove up to a couple of wineries and did some wine tasting along with our card collecting. I was one card off of a straight in the end. Jesse ended up winning. A rule they had (which he exploited) was that you could buy cards for $1 each at the end...He had 2 Jacks and a joker (wild card, can be anything) so he bought 4 cards and managed getting another joker! (there were 4 total...2 packs of cards.)

Jesse and I have also been planning a holiday for the end of May. We were going to go over to Coffin Bay (about 8 hours away driving) but decided against that. Instead we're going to Marion Bay, about 3 hours away, and so far we've found and booked the accommodation. One of our friends is coming with us. As she's a little financially challenged at the moment Jesse and I have decided to shout her the accommodation as a Congratulations for finishing Uni present. She's not a huge fan of the idea (she's independant and likes to pay her own way) but we both really want her to come along.

Well, I had best be getting back to my work at hand. My boss is flying interstate again today so it's going to be busy until the moment he leaves the office.

Hope you're all well.

God bless,
Amy.
