We do have a duo-temp (a/c-heater) large wall unit thing......and when it's working, it does really well. But when the humidity changes it tends to freeze up and spit little ice pellets at us, then we have to run the fan until it thaws out and then try the a/c again. It's getting to be a pain.
We have a really small house though, so I'm hoping it won't cost us too much money to have central installed. Pretty basic rectangular house - and the ducting would have to run through the hallway and into each room. The rest of the ceilings are vaulted, so there is no real attic throughout the house.
I can't believe I lived in SA up until 1993 without a/c. But Mom's house has lot's of windows with nice screens. We don't have any screens. I need to check into that too. But I would never be comfortable sleeping with the windows open in this neighborhood.

New roofs are noisy! At least the process is.
Next Thursday will be my last night of work for the season. I'm glad, I'm very tired and I'm looking forward to catching up on some sleep. In the meanwhile, I need to get as much overtime as possible before next Thursday. It's only available til Monday, so that means I'll be working this weekend.

Our sunroom roof leaks. We can't get it to stop, even though we've had people out to work on it. Poor Bailey gets wet sometimes.
