We had a blast! A photo link will be coming soon...I have some pretty fun video too.
I'll be done counting in 6 more days, silly! We have our VBS this week, so I have another fun week ahead of me. It should be a breeze after last week, we'll see.
As soon as I got there last Sunday, they put me to work. That was cool though, I was there to serve and boy did I server. I helped finish decorating on Sunday, then Mon - Fri, I mostly assisted the 5th/6th grade class teacher....she was a cool lady. A college Chemistry professor. I liked her a lot, and she knew just how to handle those kids. They were all good kids, rowdy, but good.
I also helped out a little with crafts - with tye-dying t-shirts.
Friday night was parents night and I got some fun video of the kids up on stage singing and doing all the mostions. The poor boy standing next to Evelyn looked terrified the entire time. And Ben was kinda just going through the motions til he noticed me aiming the camera his way and then he got a big smile on his face. It was cute. They both had reading parts too. I was so proud of them.

Welcome home Beckey!
I was wondering what the weather was like where you were as Dolly was doing her thing. I really thought of and prayed for Ben after you had shared what he was experiencing with his fear of the wind.
I look forward to the pictures and video.

We tried hard to keep the info about Dolly to a minimum around Ben. I don't even think he knew there was a hurricane until maybe Thursday or Friday. We got some pretty hard but very short showers on Wed and Thur, but it wasn't too bad. Had Dolly been any further North on the coastline it would have been much worse. When they had the news about the tornado in San Antonio on the tv Evelyn saw it, and went and told Ben, but I smoothed it over pretty quickly. Thanks for your prayers.

Oh Beckey! Those are sooo preciously priceless!! Those really lifted my spirits tonight!
Ben may have looked serious but he was doing the motions almost as though they were second nature to him! And Evelyn, in the second video where she gets a little tangled in her orange lei, made for some pretty funny expressions too but she kept right on going with the motions.
Boy, their VBS had a good attendance! Ours used to be quite well attended until they started messing with the tried and true to suit those who didn't like the schedule. *sigh* it's really sad I think.

Aren't they cute? Evelyn was just too funny...I giggle watching the third one where she's got an itch on her face, then her chin, then her head. And some of the faces she makes are just hysterical. She's a character.
OH! And that head in the front row is my sister, LOL! She was in charge of keeping the kids in order with the scripture readings.
We have our VBS this week, during the evening. 6:00 to 8:30, I think. I hope we have a good turnout as well...I'm really looking forward to it. It's the same theme so I know all the songs already.

I think Evelyn has a stomache virus. Poor thing, she layed down on the front row during the sermon today and in the middle of the sermon sat up, looked at me with a sickly little face and barfed right there on the floor. She had Lucky Charms for breakfast, so it was very colorful. I got her back to the restroom pretty quick and two of the other members quickly and quietly cleaned it up...all while the pastor was preaching.
Since then, she's gotten sick at least once about every half hour. I feel bad for her. And I hope I don't get it, with our VBS being this week and all.
