Stress can definitely do a number on the body. I'll be praying for you to retain your job and for you to have a feeling of peace while you're waiting to know for sure what will happen with the budget cuts.

Sue, thank you for offering to pray. Prayers would mean so much. I keep reminding myself that my future is secure in Him and that He will never leave me or forsake me.

In many lists of menopausal and pre-menopausal symptoms, they list palpitations or "heart flutters." Do any of you experience them? My problem is I have a tendency toward SVTs (Supraventricular Tachycardia), where my heart will suddenly jump into overdrive and I'll usually have to go to the ER to get it back down to normal. So when I feel a flutter or a sudden pounding I am fearful that it's another SVT episode starting, but when I change positions or it otherwise stops, I guess it is just palpitations. Drives me crazy!!!

I get palpitations. It helps to cough. Somehow that seems to set things right again.

I have mitral valve regurgitation from taking Fen Phen. I occasionally will have rapid fibs & get kind of dizzy. I wouldn't be surprised though that I get them more often because of peri. kd

I suffered from this for many years. I had to lay on the ground and have my legs bent, and then breath deeply to get them to stop. I have had them last for along time though and almost gone to ER because I did not know what it was, and I had one Dr tell me it was stress! I finally got someone to listen to me, the did an EKG when it was happening, and then with in 24 hours I was talking to a Dr to have it fixed. I had a very simple surgery to have the heart thing corrected. What a great thing to not have to worry about it any more. I said all that to say that the surgery to correct the SVT's is very easy and quick.

Hey Kath (I think it was Kath who mentioned this), I finally went to Walgreens and got a Tweze, and I love it! I really thought it would hurt when it "tweezes" the hairs out, but it doesn't. I've been tweezing hairs off odd places like my elbows. (Why do I have hair on my elbows to begin with?) I guess I'm just easily entertained.

At first I didn't think I would ever want to have it, but it would be so nice to not have to worry about this any more. I think I probably will, but I'm just not ready yet. I know it doesn't compare to more major heart surgeries, but it's still scary to me -- plus the thought of having to lie flat on my back for hours afterward is intimidating to me.

My doctor said I should drink soy milk for my mild hot flashes. Has any one drank soy milk to reduce hot flashes, did it work? Does it taste like normal milk?

Does it taste like normal milk? Not really. However, the vanilla flavor is OK.

Well, Auntie Flo is throwing some serious tantrums this month, to the point that I've gotten concerned and called my gynecologist. I started about five days before getting to the blanks in the pill pack (I'm on Yasmin for irregular periods, but it doesn't seem to be doing the job). Then, after about five days of that I got a one-day break. When I started the blanks, I started another period that was timed correctly but very heavy and painful. It's gotten to the point that I'm wondering how in the world there could be so much since I basically already had a period. Would appreciate prayers that my doctor would be able to help (maybe give me different medication) and get me in earlier than late July.
