Ok, I have assignments for Lisa, Craig, and Gary. But thing is, I have to finish my assignment before I can announce another, and y'all have to finish your grocery store assignments before receiving mine. I'm going to take the liberty of modifying the grocery store assignment just a bit (hope you don't mind, DSB) and say that instead of the grocery store, you can go to Wal-Mart, Target, or other discount store, or any place you have to stand in line. Even at church (since someone asked). Ready? Go!

Nope! Nothing to be scared of. Now Craig and Gary ought to be getting nervous, though. I've got some great ideas.

Lisa, check your email.

You know what's funny? I totally misunderstood the OP. I thought this challenge was for all of us.

I'm Sorry, Pam. I was picking on them because of things they had said earlier. But when I do my challenge, it's going to be for everyone.

How are you doing on your challenge?

Haven't been anywhere yet to be in a position to speak to anyone in line, but it's made me think about my interaction (or rather non-interaction) with people. So, if I find myself in a position to take the challenge, I'll certainly try it! (Well, I'll try to try it, anyway, and see what happens. What do you say, except hi, nice weather we're having?)

Now THAT'S the $64,000 question!! I was hoping others would have an idea. We're not supposed to talk about the weather, either.

Yeah, I know, and that was my fall-back!

I'm not usually one to strike up conversations with people I don't know, but as I was walking out of church Sunday, a guy just started talking. It was really bright, so we talked about how blinding it was. Then we talked about Sunglasses, and how it's not quite as hot as it was in Chicago. The conversation took a few turns, and it only lasted until we got into the parking lot (3 minutes??) It's a shame I couldn't count that.

But what about me? I CAN legitimately talk about the weather, right?

Hmm, I'm not sure the brightness of the sun counts as weather, does it? Well, yeah, on second thought, I guess it would. Feathers.

Okay, Michelle - up for a road trip for an indoor game? Oct 26th, in Orlando. I know the refs and a few of the players. Good enough for you?

Okay, but how do you bring it up out of the blue in line at the grocery store?

Hmm. That's not a good day for me. How 'bout something a little sooner than that?

How about this? "Say, you look a little sick. Have you thought about how your family would get by in the event of your unexpected death?" Oh, what's that you're not married?" Great! Me neither. "

Will have to check the local leagues - nothing in Bradenton.

Perfect!! Maybe I can "ease" into soccer that way. And we can find some good lookin' guys to talk to while we're there.

Oh, trust me, there are ALWAYS good looking guys to talk to at soccer matches!
