I want people to list all the common acronyms that pertain specifically to these threads (science and origins) for new comers to help them understand us better. Here are a couple to get you started. Thanks.

UCD = Universal common decent (the notion that all organisms share a common ancestor

PCD = Primate common decent
DI = Discovery Institute
TOE = theory of evolution
EOE = Edge of evolution (after a book my Michael Behe concerning the limitations of evolution)
IC = Irreducibly complex (Coined by Michael Behe)
SC = specified complexity (Coined by William Dembski)
CSI = Complex specified Information (Same as SC)
ID = Intelligent Design
OET = Old earth theorist
YEC = Young Earth Creationist

RM - Random Mutation
NS - Natural Selction
SI - Specified Complexity
ID - Intelligent Design

I'm still trying to figure out what NDE stands for. Dang, I forgot all about RM and NS and you beat me to some others [:(] . Btw, I think you meant to say SC, not SI (I think you got CSI confused with SC).

ERV = Endogenous retrovirus
SETI = Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence
NCSE = National Center for Science Education
NSF = National Science Foundation

I've looked in various places, but I can't find a concrete translation of UCD. I assume that it means something along the lines of Un-Created Design, but I would appreciate a full translation.

BRBS= Bad Religion Bad Science

(L)UCA= (Last) Universal Common Ancestor
GTE= General Theory of Evolution (which is quite grandiose in some worldviews)
