I would consider a tummy tuck as well, even with only 10lbs to lose my belly isn't fat it's just loose skin.

Yup, all the trainers in the world couldn't get rid of my loose skin.

I will consider a tummy tuck after I lose the weight from this (our last) baby. Anyone have any idea how much one of those costs? Is it crazy expensive?

Keep in mind that I'm in Ontario, Canada ... but I opted to pay out of pocket for a breast reduction, rather than waiting the 5+ years for my name to come up on 'the list' so that the province would cover it. It was about $5000 ... I was told that a tummy tuck runs almost double that. That could just be this particular surgeon's fee, but that's what I was told. On the upside, our province covers the cost of a tummy tuck if you have lost a substantial amount of weight (I think they say at least 25% of your weight) So once I'm finished having kids, I'll focus my energy on getting healthy and slimming down ... and then we'll see if a TT is warranted (iow, we'll see if I have to continually stuff extra tummy skin into my pants to hide it! LOL)

I'm in Canada too - Manitoba. Does 25% count if it's pregnancy weight loss?

With me, I would only consider it if I lost all the weight I'm aiming to lose (which is around 100 pounds) ... and then only if the skin is super saggy -- like part way to my knees saggy. And I would really only be looking to have that panel of skin removed ... forget about the muscle tightening and whatnot ... I didn't think I'd EVER opt for plastic surgery, but with the size of 'the girls' I was in constant pain. I went DOWN to a DD/DDD and gained just over an inch in height, since I was able to stand completely erect for the first time in over a decade. (At my absolute largest -- during my first pregnancy -- I reached an N cup .... yes they make those!) I averaged around a J when not pregnant. I'm quite happy that I can now be comfortable and play with my kids ... and I can do up my shoes without having to shimmy my breasts to each side of my knees!!!

Kara - I can totally understand getting that done that's for sure! In fact, you did it for health reasons and quality of life reasons - not vanity! Plastic surgery (after pregnancy) could be viewed as getting back the body God gave you.

I could end up needing one anyway, 6 months PP and my abdominal separation is still not gone so if it's not gone after the next baby and I'm down to my pre-preg/ "healthy" weight according to my OB I can have it covered by insurance. It's not good for my back if my abs are weak.

My mom's belly is poochy and can look a wee bit pregnant in the wrong shirt but I think she still looks pretty good considering she had 6 babies. But, she's also losing weight and will soon be thinner then me if I don't get on the ball

I have Tammy Tea-tea's number. I'll call her later today. Maggie, your man is great. Mine says the same thing. I need to lose weight for health reasons too, but other than that factor, I'm actually happy in my own (saggy and stretch marked) skin for the first time in my life. I'm hoping to get a lot of my weight loss done while he's deployed. Especially since I'll have my mom here, we'll make it a goal together. I talked to my mom at length last night, she and my brother went and cleaned out her desk at work, and turned in all her uniforms. She's going in on monday to turn in her official retirement papers. She's actually really happy. I'm excited too! Seriously...this is like a dream come true! LOL Sandy

That will be nice, Sandy. She'll be much more available to come help while your DH is playing in the sandbox.

it'll be awesome! She's going to live with me until she gets settled and finds a place. Even hubby is excited, he's hoping she can get here before he leaves, but I doubt it. Probably in the next couple of months. Sandy

Well, I've bundled my babies up & walked in the ice for 3 days in a row. I don't know how much exercise I've gotten though, because it's so cold I don't stay out long. But I do get an 'A' for effort, right? The ice on the sidewalks in my condo complex has melted, so I thought the park might be clear. It's still a snow mountain, so the 1st two days we just walked around the park's parking lot. I wore Lincoln & pushed Reagan. Yesterday I walked in my parents neighborhood. My mom bought me a double stroller. Yay!! This stroller is so nice, my parents, hubby & I just kept oohing & aahing over it. It was only $80 but is very sturdy, has huge rubber (not plastic) wheels, and the fabric is such a thick, durable canvas. None of us could believe how nice it was for the price. My mom went & found the receipt to make sure it was $80 and not $180. It's way nicer than my single stroller. I'm looking forward to using it all summer!

I left a message on her voicemail. Hopefully, she'll call me back or just get on here. Sandy

I called Tammy (tea-tea) again. Her phone isn't on, but remember that she said her little one would probably be having the cleft surgery about this time...so maybe that's what she's busy with. I'll keep trying. Sandy
