The false prophet is one who "leads" people away from God's word. The real prophet calls people "back" to God's word. And that too will show up in their lifestyle.

ORIGINAL: SD456 I wish you understood the difference and understood what a true false teacher looks like according to the book of Jude. Jude is very clear on it and NONE of those you castrate fall into it. That would be eunuchs. That kind of dedication surpasses mine!

But not apparently the NT prophets. This doctrine says that because we now live in the era of grace, as opposed to the law, genuine prophets of God can make mistakes in prophecy. I still don't get it how the old versus new covenant changes anything, after all, it's still the same Holy Spirit that prophecies are uttered through. So there you go. Ask a Pentecostal, and they'll tell you that NT prophets aren't 100% accurate. Never heard this in the pentecostal churches I have been to. If a prophecy failed to happen then they were called false prophets.

Agabus is a new Testament prophet, and his prohecies came to pass as The Lord led him to speak. We are only told about order in the Church with regard to prophecy and prophetic utterance that Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. This means that there ought to be a time set aside in the Church for prophecy and the gift of prophecy to be practiced among the fellowship of prophets and assembly. quote:
