I'm so bummed. We love House! ... but after the prostitute/donkey/nativity episode the other day, I believe the series is on it's way out the door. God is patient but that kinda stuff comes with some heavy consequences. Talk about cut-throat B... I think House is cutting it's own throat. If they don't clean up from that kinda stuff, House is gonna spiral out the door. It's bringing a curse on itself. Which is sad, cuz it's probably our favorite show. O_o

There is only one new episode left, which is Tuesday's episode due to the writers strike. They saved these episodes for before and after the super bowl. Anyway I love his interactions with Wilson. Wilson should really hate House for what he does for him but they are still friends. One of the best written shows on TV

Yeah, in their attempt to add in the Christian factor, they are blowing the air out of the tires, especially this season. House's comment last week about Jesus doesn't need this pinned on him because he has enough nails in him is just pushing it a bit too far. Yeah, I agree making the donkey situation perverse was low class. It is the relational factor that is interesting. The way that House related to Kate & even how Wilson analyzed it. I think House has a borderline avoidance disorder & Wilson figured it out. But, then for Wilson on the other hand, he does nothing but screw up in his own relationships. You think she's around just to try & get a good job there via Wilson? kd

I think the writers try to be pretty realistic in the world's sense of motives. I think she is grasping at anything possible to align herself to House. I don't think she really cares about working there or about using Wilson to get her name in the hat for a good job. I think she just wants to be part of House's world, she's obsessing over him. I love the preview for next week when the realization hits House as he's talking to Wilson... "you're sleeping with me!" In her selfish obsessive way, she is alot like House. Using the best friend to get under the skin of the person you're focussed on has been around since grade school.

Yep, & she's a classic example of it. This really can't last because they just don't go together - at all. But, it really works for bugging House. I like that! kd

Last Tuesday (1/29) was also new. Before that the last new episode was before Christmas.

I like that! kd yeah, but what does that say about Wilson? seems like he's willing to disregard everyone's feelings if it gets him another bed warmer for a while. He's supposed to be the sweet guy, the loyal friend who put his job on the line for his House in last season. He knows this girl is using him to get under the skin of his best friend, but a roll in the sack seems more important. Altho he knows House has it coming. I guess he's not worried about him too much, cuz he knows House is pretty much the master of cut-throat. But still, it seems kinda low to run with someone that you know is using you.. just so you can use them. see what Christ saves us from... what a perverse system of values. what's sad it that it's pretty accurate in terms of a worldly standard of morals.

Maybe we'll find out we really don't know Wilson at all! I'm getting kind of disappointed in the sparce appearances of the former team & Cutty. The new team is fine, but doesn't make a lot of sense that the original players are on less time than most child actors! k

I think there is one important thing we can see as Christians that can be very important. It seems they are doing a good job of pointing out the specific areas keeping atheists away from a personal relationship w/ God. I think it was really clear last night w/ the emphasis being on "people don't change". We have a hard time believing that people think that way, but it is very true. I think this helps us tremendously when in comes to witnessing to others. If we know where the brick walls are, we have a good change of penetrating them. I'll give the writers a thumbs up for that! Also, I really liked the expression on House' face when he found out that the woman's brain was lighting up when she was praying. Put all these events together w/ other seasons & House cannot be too far away from believing the truth. Consider this - the psychiatrist would know too that it's true how the brain responds to praying. I have read somewhere she would be interested in a regular role. kd

yeah, the new team really seems like unnecessary filler. They don't have the cohesion like the original one, which is giving the whole show a different feel imo. I miss the close quarter relationships of last season. The people don't change quote reminded me of the movie 16 Blocks with Bruce Willis and Ford (he's the guys from Hitchhikers Guide and I can never remember his real name). Anyway, the mantra in that movie was "People can change." It was a great movie, cops and robbers thing. I guess there's arguments on both sides on that one. House was interesting last night. Again, I think the writers do a good job of portraying human behavior. Any time someone changes for the good, everyone is suspicious. But let them turn off into a wild or addicted life style and it seems easier to believe, almost more acceptable. "Misery loves company" perhaps. Cut throat B turns out nice in this episode... just be ready to get jerked around in the next one. Writers are getting skilled at that LOST technique of loving a character one episode, hating them the next, and so goes the roller coaster until you're afraid to like any one character at all. But what about the bi-sexual reference to number 13... you knew it had to come in sooner or later. I love how the writers have slanted her as such a positive, insightful character... then suddenly they casually drop the bombshell. Makes you wonder if they are trying to show how human gays are in an attempt to plead their case as no different than anyone else... or if they stacked everything positive in her direction and then used the gay thing as something negative to balance the act. They would probably claim the first, but subconsciously they seem to be suggesting the latter. You see, everyone has their downside, something negative, a weakness in opposition to their strengths. If gays, like 13, are positive in every way as so often portrayed... and the sticking point, the bombshell, is their sexual orientation -- then secular writers seem to subtly be suggesting that that's their negative quality. I know that's not their intent, and they would argue the point. But if they are going to portray the likeable, seemingly perfect characters, as gay or lesbian... they are actually making a case that such a life style isn't normal or average human behavior. Maybe I'm just bummed, cuz I really liked her character, still do, just a little put out by the writers that they have pulled such a gay-rights-advocate cliche'

In this case, the bombshell to me didn't work because we are still curious about whether she is sick or not. Trying to make the suggestion that folks knew it is beyond me. We didn't guess it so what's the point? Yeah, I don't care for them trying to add feeling to Amber. We didn't like her from day one & if change is not real then she can't either! It seems they add more characteristics to her than they do the team. Weird. Well, unfortunately we have a nice long wait. Last 4 shows of the season don't come up until the end of April. Can of a pain being in a holding pattern while AI goes on. I really miss the old days of television when you had a set season & nothing interrupted it. k

I am behind in pretty much all my former TV interests. Kinda hit and miss with everything except LOST and only because my family calls me in the room whenever it's on... gotta have one show for family bonding time -- we love it (the bonding time that is, tho Lost is pretty okay too). There is just too much going on at the moment and what little time I'm watching TV, I'm trying to keep up with China and Burma and Elections and Natural Disasters left and right. Reality kind of rattled me away from TV for entertainment. But I did manage to record the opening of House this season for my son and I've seen a couple episodes in part. I'm usually listening from the kitchen when it's on. The parallels between Amber and House in relation to Wilson still interest me. That love/hate element of their romance. It seems to work in his friendship with House, but I'm wondering if he will burn out with a romance based on so much intensity. It seems exhausting. Sooner or later one of their characters is gonna change drastically, or else one or the other will become bored/exhausted with the other... which will set up the big break-up. Just when House was beginning to like her, I'm sure. In television-world, it would seem the perfect set up for Amber and House to end up together living in misery *lethargic eye roll* haha. ^_^

I'm sure it all boils down to the conversation prior to the accident. I'm curious to what Wilson's reaction will be. Do you think it will be true love or just concern? Also, how much concern House has for her seeing as something in next weeks' episode seems to be dealing w/ life or death. One thing I'm curious about - seems most fans really want the team back & we all thought some way some how that was going to happen during this season. You think it will happen next season? I asked this question on the Movies Board. Has anyone seen the movie Firewall (Harrison Ford)? Isn't that Amber who plays his secretary? kd

I have seen Firewall and it was really good, but it's been a while back. I'll have to try and check it out again. I think it's cool to see people pop up in new shows/movies that you recognize from a show in the past. We love that. We watched something a couple weeks ago, the name escapes me at the moment, but there were like four people in minor roles that are currently in prime time spots. It was pretty funny recognizing them one by one.
