Hi Humbleinspirit -
Yes, I do like Orlando quite a bit. I became an honorary "Floridian" my first winter here :) The pace of life is fairly slow, the cost of living is affordable, and I find the people here to be quite open in many ways. There is also a relaxed approach to life that I enjoy (kind of reminds me a bit of Southern California in that way). However, Orlando is also the very definition of urban sprawl - and thus, it feels unplanned and kind of confusing to me - not as regimented or as ordered as in some places that I've lived. But I absolutely love all of the different cultures and people - and the small town / yet city type feel.
What about you - you live near Boston yes? Do you like Boston and the town that you live in? I visited Boston only once, but not long enough to really get a feel for the place.

Hi Rgod, I live in a Community just outside of Boston. It is removed enough that it is not affected by Boston's hustle and bustle. I really dislike Boston these days. It has gotten too gentrified, too hurried, too transient that the city is no longer the one that I was born and raised in. I would like to live somewhere else someday God willing. It doesn't appear to be right now though.

I can understand that. I like things to be a bit quiet myself, but I do enjoy some hustle and bustle - within driving distance. Sorry to hear though that the city isn't what you remembered. I didn't grow up in one place - but can only imagine that it must be a bit sad to see things change in that way.

In part I made the mistake of moving out of the neighborhood that I identified with. The street rules are different there, and what happens in downtown Boston would not be tollerated there either.
Now I like active cities, just not rude people.
