2Cor 1.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." -- Isaiah 30:21

Many of my favorites have been posted here already, but here's a couple others I didn't see that I like too..

"Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

"Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." - John 14:1-3

Here is one that helped me when I was doubting my salvation. I read it quoted in a book by Charles Spurgeon. When I read it, it hit home and gave me instant peace. I was in awe for awhile.

Romans 5:6 = For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves
Isaiah 62:6

In a letter to the Christians in Cornith Paul writes;

(1Co 10:13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

That verse changed my Christian walk (or stumble might be a better word). It showed me that as a Christian we do not have to sin and can live the life we are called to live.

(Rom 12:1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Thanks
RC

Philipians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

This passage has gotten me through some dark days in my life.

Zec 14:20 In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, "HOLY TO THE LORD." And the cooking pots in the LORD'S house will be like the bowls before the altar.

"I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me"
Philippians 4:13

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

These verses have held me up through my battle with bipolar illness. I dwell on the sound mind part especially.

Psalm 139 has special significance for me at the moment:

Psalm 139

1 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
5You hem me in— behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
7Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
11If I say, Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
13For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum ofthem!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.
19If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
20 They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.
23Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

God knows all about us and because He knows the beginning and the end, we know we can trust Him with the inbetween times also. Because God knows what lies in our future, we can be sure that when we are walking in obedience to Him that He will work all things together for good no matter what situation we find ourselves in today or tomorrow - Only God is this wonderful.

Hallelujah.

Because I wrestle with bi-polar depression, a lot of my favoriete Bible verses deal with worry and anxiety (Matthew 6:25-34: 1 Peter 5: 7) But my real favorietes have to do with the closeness of God in my life such as Isaiah 41:10

"So do not fear, for I am with you;do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you: I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

That verse reminds me that God is always with me; He is my God and He will strengthen me when I'm weak and help me when I'm down[8|][:D

The verse that keeps me calm and not too stresed out is Philippians 4:13

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

God delivered me from a spirit of fear by giving this verse to me and I'd recite it at night by personalizing it..."I'm an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony." Then, as we traveled in Colombia He comforted me and gave me the second 1/2..."and I love not my life so much as to shrink from death." Revelation 12:11

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105

I love this verse because it reminds me that He is in charge, and He gives me just enough light to know the next step to take. I have complete trust in Him; He has never let me down.

Psalm 91:7

Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

I think everyone should carry this scripture around with them in their pocket every day.

Here are 2 that sustain me:

Romans 8:31 (KJV)

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

and

Matthew 11:30

30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
