I absolutely cannot stand wimmen dancing in front of the church. If they did that at my church I would leave.

I think "pledges" are of the devil.

Earthless, dude, between this and the long fingernail thread it's becoming pretty clear that you've got some germ issues, man.

Along those lines....

the people that run around the sanctuary with banners, ribbons, flags, etc... waving and twirling them incessantly all during worship.

*ducks*

I was raised by a woman that makes Martha Stewart look like a slob. My sister is the same way as her.. my wife? Not so much, but I do attribute it to me not getting sick in years.

I have written something and deleted it four times. It is politically incorrect and I am afraid of being misunderstood, but it is so funny...

I am a horrible little man.

Well, if I get in trouble it's your fault...

Everytime I think about a president Obama I hear that line from Blazing Saddles running through my head... the new sheriff is coming and the church bell is ringing...

Seriously, I don't mean anything by it but I can't help it running through my head.

I told you I am a horrible little man.

Now sholud I delete it? Will someone be offended? I hope not...

PS Earthless, will you PM me so I can ask you about a certain teacher?

I hate thermomters for building funds

Actually, I have another one. I hope Pastors don't get offended

I really dislike it when the offering plate is passed during worship songs or hymns. It is distracting and breaks my connection with my Saviour. It just irritates me because while one is singing, you always have to have one eye open to see where the plate is...........

OK...You can kick me off the forums now

At least you don't have your eyes open to see---'what' is put in the plates!!!

Did I really say that??

I love food made with alcohol. Beer-battered anything, beef burgundy and another meal you find at chinese restuarants made with chicken (hmm. Sorry can't remember....the alcohol is named after a city in Louisiana, I think....) I don't drink, I just like foods cooked with or in alcohol.

I am sometimes selfish.

I love to eat.

and that is all I can think of at the moment.

Bourbon chicken.... mmm.. mmm. good!

Yeah! That's it. Tastes real good!

To clarify, what I abhor is the way the Church (in my experience) promotes "devotionals" while neglecting to teach Christians how to study the Bible on their own. It's more the neglect part that scares me than the promoting part.

Not offended, but have a question. Do you feel the same way about worship during the passing of the Communion elements, or does your church not do that?

I prefer singing during that; in our church, though, it's just organ music.

I guess that doesn't bother me, because I consider my giving a form of worship as well.

Pretty much everything else bothers me, though.

Come to our church, we have no offering plates! Just a box at the back like God intended.

I wish we had that...I went to Calvary Chapel for years. I thought that is where you go?

It seems it would be trusting God alot more to just put a box at the back like God intended....or at least that is the way I wish it was...

Our church does do that. And, no, I do not feel the same way about worship during passing of the Communion elements.

Not offended at all........

I agree with that. I just prefer it to be done when I am not worshiping the Lord in singing and praising, corporately.

And, why does it have to be in the open? Did not Jesus say something like don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing?

I just think it is a major distraction in corporate worship. Whereas something like Communion is supposed to be in corporate worship....
