as a <single> guy I have a problem with all the goofy fragrances those marketers put out on the shelf. I usually stare at the shampoo's wondering what "strawberry mountain surprise" smells like or should I go with "orange bananaberry sunset. " My brain keeps looking for "S O A P " but that word somehow has gotten lost. Today I needed some carpet fro fro. and the best I can find is "rainforest starlight twinkle dust" (ok I added "dust")

Dangit ! I request - nay - DEMAND some MASCULINE Scents

Gimmie:

Camp fire
Fresh cut lawn
Saw Mill
Hardware store
BBQ grill - ( tho a dog or two may follow one around)
Fresh brewed coffee
New Car
Fresh baked pizza
Baseball glove
Gun oil
And "old school copier"

At least something that doesn't require a translator.

Me too!! Too many perfumy shampoos.

I was desperate so I went shopping for a new one and I found one that was made in Australia. Knowing that Australians are manly men, wrestling crocs and all that, I figured it probably had a nice manly smell. Like croc poop or something.

But I tried it and it smelled like mango & papaya fruit salad too.

(Ray: I spelt croc right this time. )

I buy Ivory pure soap, no funky mango sent in that pure animal fat lye. For shampoo, I get the cheapest unscented White Rain. Recently Old Spice came out with a mens body wash, and have been using that lately... love that traditional manly man scent.

What gets me though is when I'm on the road and forget my bathroom bag. I have no choice but to use the froo-froo sented stuff in the hotel room. In those rare occasions, I just have to go smelling like a metro-sexual.

Tell you what, you give me some of that Gun Oil scent.... then I'll think about putting on a kilt (in the private confines of "the garage").

Boats, I can relate. I'm not single, but I travel and so some things apart from my family. It can be a challenge to find "thank you" notes, stationery, greeting cards, etc., with masculine designs. The world can be a feminine place these days.

My sister has long said she'd marry the first man she met who used Hoppes #9 as an aftershave.

Fresh gunpowder. Now that's a smell I miss.

I prefer to smell it after it has been burnt.
body odor is an awesome guy smell. At least i think so.
cigars are a nice manly smell. I'm too young to smoke them so i just smell the pleasant fumes. someday i will probably die of secondhand smoke.

I used to use white IVORY soap. It has no smell. I would have trouble throughout the day with people ignoring me. Never understood why until the first day I used COAST soap and shazam! Even the dog would greet me.

Japanese Cherry Blossom from the Bath & Body Works is marvelous. And their vanilla body wash is wonderful too-- apparently, it has jasmine, calendula, and white tea scents mingled in to the base, according to the Bath & Body Works website.

Also, the Dove Pink soap smells like roses-- like they mixed the petals with cream or something like that. I'd advise that for a bar of soap on a regular basis.

How so? I'm a man, ipso facto, the scents I mentioned are "masculine."
