Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/16/2008 12:57:58 AM)

It does seriously matter in some social circles. Some actually measure a woman's spirituality by the length of her hair. I remember when I was a child, my mother struggled with the fact that I have a very high forehead, and she wanted to cut bangs for me. It was actually a church-struggle. She finally did, and I wore bangs for years. In the meantime, the pastor's granddaughter got her hair cut, and she felt so compelled to cover up that she had cut her hair that the sweet little Christian teenager told everyone at church who asked that her brother had run over her hair with the lawn mower! I had to wear my hair uncut, except for the bangs, until I married and left home. It used to give me headaches, too, because my hair was very thick and went past my hips. Tell you what, though -- I could wear it up in those towering curls of the '60 without a hair piece!
