Little_1, quote:
Lightshineon - you are still very much in my thoughts at the moment. I look at your picture and I ask God to help you and strengthen your faith. A thought that has been coming into my mind thinking about yourself and our own situation and that though is that God is 'growing our faith'. I can imagine a little deer climbing up a mountain. It is only a delicate little creature and yet it is so sure footed as it scales and reaches new heights on this steep mountainside. I pray that God will help you to be like this little deer. Sure footed and reaching higher ground - a beautiful picture. This little deer looks backwards every so often and this reminds me that we too need to look back at what God has done in our lives in the past and encourage ourselves knowing that God will not let us down and this will help us to move on in our faith. However, this little deer wants to press on upwards because it knows there is much good further up the mountain. It is an anxious time but the little deer keeps going steadily. I have never had this happen before Lightshineon but the little deer is so clear in my mind when I have been thinking about you this evening. I picture it as being a little afraid and anxious but it does not need to be. It is moving in the right direction and this is my prayer for you. That you keep on keeping on, looking up and scaling new heights in God in whatever your circumstances. Little1, that is beautiful!!! What you wrote reminds me of this! "The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hind's feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places." Habakkuk 3:19 Little1, have you ever read or heard of a Book called; "Hind's Feet on High Places" By: Hannah Hurnard This book is a beautiful allegory dramatizing the yearning of God's children to be led to new heights of love, joy, and victory. (Follow a girl named Much-Afraid on her spiritual journey through difficult places with her two companions, Sorrow and Suffering. Learn how Much-Afraid overcomes her tormenting fears as she passes through many dangers and mounts at last to the High Places. There she gains a new name and returns to her valley of service, transformed by her union with the Loving Shepherd.) Little1, Lightshineon and others should check out this wonderful Book! (Read with lots of kleenex. It's one of those, This Was Your Life books!) God bless you all! I almost forgot to add, on the cover of the Book is a picture of two deer, standing on the top of a High Mountain! (Like Little1's above illustration!)

I will try and get a copy of this book. I have heard of it. Thank you. I had the book on my shelf for many years. (I started reading it a few times...But just never fininshed it.) I had many friends ask me out of the blue; "Have you finished the book?" I'd say, "NO." Many told me a lot of people they knew had never finished the book... They all stressed to me, "You have to finish the book! It is excellant!!!" Well, I think it was last year, I fell out of a vehicle, and Sprained my ankle. I was in horrible pain and could not walk for about three weeks! I grabbed my Bible, and Hind's Feet on High Places books. Through much pain, and many tears, God showered me with His love, (exactly when I needed it) through the pages of these books. He shed light on some pieces of my painful past, and gave me insight and healing! It also deepened my understanding of Psalm 23! I will forever say; "God's timing is Perfect!" "He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake." Psalm 23:3 Little1, I hope you do get it! Please remember, you have to finish the book! God bless you!!!

Thanks for sharing your story, Ignited. Hinds Feet is a great book. And Hannah Hurnard's autobiography is very encouraging as well. I think it is called Hearing Heart. Anyway, her struggles and all the Lord did in her encouraged me greatly.

Liveloved, (I don't mean to take over this thread!) Yes, a brief autobiography as you mentioned, is included at the end of the book! It is very powerful!

Good morning ladies! As I caught up with the posts, I prayed for each one of you. Spiritual battles are tough ... but what a blessing to realize them for what they are!! I have a friend who is fasting today, and I am joining with him by also fasting. What a wonderful day for a fast ... the National Day of Prayer. Each hunger pang will remind me to take it directly to the Lord, and to pray for my friends, both in real life and in cyber life. I love the gift of prayer, it allows us such a special time of closeness with Him.

I was standing at the sink washing dishes and thinking on some problems, feeling a little disconnected from the Lord, and everything really. When the words to an old hymn that I havn't heard in years popped into my mind. It comforted me and I hope it brings comfort to you all. "Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me." "All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I'll cling, In His blessed presence live, ever His praises sing; Love so mighty and so true merits my soul's best songs; Faithful loving service, too, to Him belongs." "Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me."

Verse 1: Everyone needs compassion Love that’s never failing Let mercy fall on me Everyone needs forgiveness The kindness of a Savior The hope of nations Chorus: Savior, He can move the mountains My God is mighty to save He is mighty to save Forever, Author of Salvation He rose and conquered the grave Jesus conquered the grave Verse 2: So take as You find me All my fears and failures Fill my life again I give my life to follow Everything I believe in Now I surrender Bridge: Shine your light and let the whole world see We’re singing for the glory of the risen King (Jesus I love this song, and want to encourage everyone that it is truth, if you, are praying for an unsaved loved one, restoration, or have greif, this song is for you. I have something to tell to encourage you in this fact. Yesterday a young girl was on her way to have an abortion, from a very sinful family. The girl went to the clinic, and changed her mind. Prayer works. My first cousion, named Dennis was totally reprobate, hated God, said bad things about God, booze, drugs. He two weeks ago suffered paralysis, and cannot move his legs, hit a nurse, they found he also had lung cancer, a huge liver. He has never pretended to come to God, and go back, he hated God so bad. His brother who lost his wife, and his mother within less than two months, has been distraught for Dennis, and his soul. I was worried he had hardened his heart too hard too. His brother called my mom, and said Dennis ask a Christian nurse to pray with him, and Dennis cried confessing to God a long, long time. Our God is mighty to save us from circumstances, no matter how hard, or impossible it seems.

Managed to order a copy of Hinds Feet on High Places - should arrive early next week. Lightshineon - thank you for your encouraging words. We all need encouragement from time-to-time. I don't know your situation but I know the One who does and although I don't know why you are going through what you are - He definately does. There are times during our lives when we we think God must have forgotten us but that is okay because our mixed up thinking doesn't stop God being God. There are also times when we feel 'disconnected' from our circumstances and from what is going on around about us - that is okay too. 'Feelings' don't stop God being God either and neither can they separate us from Him thankfully. I had to remind myself about this often during these past months on many occasions and I know God doesn't love me any less for this - I know He knew my pain and confusion. There have also been times when I thought my heart would burst from the overwhelming situation we are going through. There have been tears and there were questions (at the start) and from a human point of view - we are out 'on a limb' and there is noone to talk to who has been through similar, but thankfully - there is One who knew what was going to happen and He had already gone before us and prepared it to work for good. God went before and He already knows the outcome and like ourselves - He is preparing good to come out of your situation also. My hubby has become a Christian since the accident (if you had told me hubby would trust the Lord as his Saviour a year ago - I'd have been very sceptical and no doubt said "no way")! I just never imagined it! My own walk with God has deepened and grown more in 8 months I believe than in the whole of the 20 odd years I have been a Christian! The opportunities to share that we are trusting in the Lord with non believers have been many. I take every opportunity I can now where I had become timid and reserved for many years previous. If you had told me a year or so ago that we would face our present situation I would definately have wanted to run as fast and as far away as I could to try and prevent the accident from happening; however today, I am learning to take each day as it comes. Some days are presenting 'big' challenges and others are easier. To look ahead any further is just too much to take onboard but deep down in my heart - I just know God has more good to come out of this situation - more souls to bless and I have a peace which only God can give because it is not 'natural' in these circumstances - it is supernatural! I am sure you are the same. There are days when fear grips you but somehow - God always sends His light to steady you on. There is a Word of refreshing here and there and it gives you hope to keep on and deep down in your heart you have this peace which in your circumstances is not natural. That is the supernatural peace God gives - not as the world gives but as your Papa gives. Rest in this peace when you can. It will strengthen you for the next part of the pathway. Lightshineon - there are very many of us praying for you. You are much loved on this site by many and I have grown very fond of you likewise. I believe the Lord gives you a love for others when you pray for them. You too will encourage others with the encouragement which you receive through all this. Right now you may need to rest a while and gain strength and that is okay - we need these seasons in life and often they can bring much unexpected blessing.
