Jesus declared that there are three classes of people, Jews, Gentiles and the church. We the church have to keep an eye on each other until the end. His love is the standard for that comfort, not based upon what we feel, or judgemental hypocrites. The battle we are experiencing is one of spiritual truth, and against an enemy we can't see. We are all on the road through the narrow gate to get to the throne which is when we finish our race(yea)!
I have never been in a flesh war, but thinking that when people get hurt in war that their friends will not even think about themselves and try to get to their friend and get him to safety, or that others will carry them to safety. We as the church body must do the same with our brothers and sisters, we some have fallen or get hurt we need to get them to safety, whether by prayer or by carrying them to a placed of healing, in either case we are to help each other until we have reached the throne. No one is going to escape being attacked.

I for one am not particularly thrilled with the outcome of the elections, but am reminded that the Bible instructs us to pray for all those in authority ... and that means whether we like who's in charge or not.

I am much encouraged that God is ultimately in control, and am reminded again that as believers we are just pilgrims passing through this land.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. - Proverbs 18:4

The bubbling brook just sounds so much more enticing! [:)]

I like this verse! Thanks for posting it.

I would just like to add, for anyone out there that is dealing with a difficult past. Give the LORD all of the pain, regret, bottles up emotions, etc. You don't have to carry this heavy weight anymore. Pour out your heart to Him. Tears are refreshing. With Jesus your future is bright.
Jesus loves you.
Love, Ignited-Faith

Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

Isaiah 40:31

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
verses 12 and 13 go on to say that we are to call upon God, and He will listen to us. And if we seek Him we will find Him, when we search for Him with ALL our heart.
I pray for everyone to find encouragement in these scriptures. God wants us to remain in His peace. We can do this by calling upon Him, seeking and searching for Him when we do it with all our heart. May each one of you be blessed by His presence today. He has not went anywhere. And, glory to God, we are NOT alone.

IwillseekHim,
That was our sermon today as well based on Psalm 139. We are not alone.

And even though my earthly father died in 1988, I am not left an orphan. My heavenly Father will never leave me or forsake me.

He is very present. . . always. Thanks for the reminder.[sm=heart.gif][sm=hug.gif]

hee hee ...... Liveloved, you always make me smile [:D]

I remember reading recently about a little song someone sings first thing in the morning. I think it was you. Was it you? A cute little song learned from a child. And I can't remember where I saw it or how it went.

It was me, desertgirl. It was a song my nephew taught me and I shared it in a post on honoring God. The song goes like this:
Good morning, God!
This is Your day.
I am Your child.
Show me Your way.

Wish I could sing it for ya too.[sm=icon_smile_sing.gif]

Oh, how I love this, LCannon. I am one of those watchmen. How about you?

Get into God's word to find out who his and He will reveal himself to you. So much garbage and false teaching out there. God speaks through His word. Make sure you're attending a church that teaches the whole cousel of God and not just the parts they like![;)]

whenever I read that verse, my mind always jumps over to Ez 33:6

Psalm 78:1-4

Listen, O my people, to my instruction; incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.

Let us never forget the lessons of the OT, and let us remember to seek the Lord and follow after Him.

Liveloved -> RE: KINDRED SPIRITS - Encourage One Another (7/6/2009 2:26:35 PM)

Thanks, desertgirl. I've been singing Be Exalted, O God, above the heavens, Let your glory be over all the earth! this morning.

Do you realize that WE are His glory?

WE are His praise?

The Holy came to dwell in US. Hallelujah! Now that's an encouraging word.

And it reminds me of the little songs from Hinds' Feet on High Places. Love those little songs! In fact, after *singing* them to myself (yeah, those old hymns we sing at church sure have come in handy [:D]), I found myself *singing* as I was reading the book!!! [:D][:D][:D]

The unfolding of Thy words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple. Psalm 119:130

I love this verse! It is God's word, a true word, an encouraging word, and the word He gave me this morning.

The unfolding of His words gives light. What is it to 'unfold' but to open up, expose, let light into the places where darkness once was, revelation takes place, and the result is understanding.

It gives understanding to the simple. Know-it-alls aren't the ones who get understanding. It is the simple who are given understanding through the unfolding of His words.

The simple could be the ignorant. The simple could be those who haven't been taught much. The simple could be those who take God at His word and just believe. The simple could be the humble, those who long to learn from God Himself, are ready to be taught, to hear, to know Him, even when that knowing leads to self knowing, to chastening, to correction and discipline.

The unfolding of Thy words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

He does it all. All we have to do is sit quietly with Him. Listen. Have ears to hear. A heart that longs to know Him more.

And He will reveal Himself to us. He will unfold Himself, reveal Himself, give us light and life, and that leads to understanding.

Thank You, Lord.

He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions ... Psalm 107:20

Praise God for His healing! Thank You Lord for always being there for us and never giving up on us, for always being willing to meet us wherever we are.

We faithfully preach the truth. God's power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. . . . Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.
2 Corinthians 6:7, 10

Our joy is found in the Lord!!

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.
