What are your likely thoughts of a woman if you were to use this expression to describe her? Thanks!

Heard of it; don't like it.

She isn't an inanimate object. I know what it means, that she is a good person, but still don't like it. More she is worth more than rubbies.

Oh, I see. Thanks. So it's possible that when a man uses it as an "endearing term" it doesn't really mean much, I suppose. I'm holding out for rubies then!

My thoughts about a woman described in such a way would be neutral. It sounds like a way of describing your kid sister or a co-worker.

That's what I've always understood it to mean. Term used of a friend rather than a potential SO.

Never hear of it, but would also not take it in a good connotation.

I would never use that phrase and if I heard someone else use it I would think they are hopelessly old fashioned (and I am in my 50s). It was something my grandparents used. edited to add:quote:

And it was recently followed up with - "She's definitely a woman of tremendous character." I thought Christian men were looking for women like this. I don't get it. I am. The problem seems to be no one is looking for what I have to offer in spite of my looks.

Okay, this explains the confusion in Singles last night. So we're thinking "good egg" is the female version of "nice guy?"
