Growing up in the fifties, we went to the drive-in a LOT. Four a family of four you couldn't beat it, two bucks a car. For that you got a cartoon, two fairly recent movies, and a playground up in the front. And while the eats were cheap, the between-movie ads for the snack bar selling them were priceless. Animated hot dogs and Popsicles dancing around to a scratchy soundtrack...film footage of questionable greenish pizza...corn dogs that were older than Teddy Roosevelt... Good times. [:D]
