Jae -- it's early, but not uncommon! A lot of babies scoot for a while before they crawl. I fully expected Isabel not to crawl until 8-9 months since that's what Isaac did, but she took off in a full crawl at just 6 months. EEK! I wasn't prepared, LOL!!

That is so cute. At 6 months we were wondering when Akeelah would ever show SIGNS of crawling. She started crawling after she learned to walk (at least she was good to me and started walking early, so I didn't have to carry her everywhere for a year.)

Update- Vivi has moved a leg slightly and her eyebrows. Doctors are now confident that she will survive, but have not given a prognosis. Of course we are praying for 100% healing to be a testimony to all those who have been involved with her case. For those who are praying, please pray for Dad- he is not.doing.well. He is broken and mom is very concerned for him, he needs prayer for spiritual strength.

I'll be in and out this week, we had company earlier in the week and my mil is coming for the weekend, so if I am sportadic, that's why- plus, Anna's room is the guest room, so she is moving all around this week which doesn't help her sleeping habits any!

Jennifer, was Vivi's dad there when it happened? I will pray specifically for him also.

Those with little ones close together...can you tell me when you "kicked" the older baby out of the crib and how they did? I don't think Levi is going to be ready to be out any time soon...or rather, that I'm ready for him to be out. He can get out of the crib, but I think he needs those boundaries around him or I'll never be able to keep him in bed. So...with baby coming in 7 weeks or so, he/she will sleep in the bassinet for a couple months. But what if Levi is still not ready? Put the new baby in the pack n play and leave Levi in the crib? I'm getting a little nervous. Levi is still very much a baby, and we're having another. What were we thinking? LOL

We actually had two cribs for a while, so I'd go the pack and play route for the new baby if needed. I think it can be traumatic to the older sibling to be kicked out of there comfortable place and see the baby immediately take it up. So once Levi's out of the crib, I'd still wait a month or two before putting the baby in there.

Isaac was still quite a baby when Isabel was born (22 months), so we bought him a toddler bed when he was about 18 months. We thought we'd need a few months to work on him staying in it. Amazingly, he stayed in it all night the first night and never got up thereafter.

<< This was mine and hubby's shock, LOL

But if it hadn't worked, we probably would've done the pack n' play thing, baby in our room, Isaac in the crib for a few months while we worked on it. We did talk frequently about the crib being "Baby Izzy's Bed" and we let him put a baby doll in it and cover the baby up, etc. He didn't care in the least, LOL.

Timmy was around 22 months when we put him in his big boy bed, except he got up frquently. We had to run in there constantly to get him back in bed. We hooked up a webcam to his computer for a while there because it was hard to tell if he was up just by listening on the baby monitor. He doesn't get out of bed now, but it took A LOT of working with him to teach him that he can't get up.

I can't imagine Levi being this, um, compliant. At least once a week, we have to battle over staying in the crib for nap time. He comes by his obstinance honestly at least. lOL

I don't *think* this will be an issue with him. He's pretty laid back about stuff like that. Plus, he'll be moving to the car bed in Noah's room, when he is ready to move.

Funny that we've never dealt with this before! When we started having Nick, Noah was already in a big boy bed and Nick slept in a pack n play because the garage sale crib had not survived our many moves. Hannah never did like the crib and was on a mattress next to our bed when Levi was born, so not an issue then either. Our fifth kid and this is the first time for this!

LOL, yeah, Robert is a computer geek. We have about 8 Pentium 3's in our storage unit. Timmy's computer is mostly his DVD player. Sometimes we play some educational games on there like Sesame Street and Jumpstart toddler. Robert really wants the kids to be computer smart, so we're starting early. Timmy already knows what a processor and RAM look like.

Donna, I'm facing the exact same issue. dH came up with the idea that since Nathan's room is so perfectly set up as a nursery, we should move Nathan into a new room, with a big boy bed and whatever he needs for clothing/toy storage.

I have a fellow SAHM in my neighborhood who did exactly that. She had a "big boy room" and a "baby room", and her kids were around 21 months apart. She said it worked fine. Nathan does not leave his crib, but I think he needs those boundaries, too.

A week from Saturday, dH has asked me to take myself and Nathan out of the house for a night so he can do some painting. We can stay at my parents, but I'm not sure what do with Nathan. We've never co-slept, and the pack n play might be to small for him; he's 33" tall right now. The other option is a mattress on the floor shoved into a corner. But I don't know if he'd go to sleep like that.

Right now he's always put down awake, but he has his toys and the crib to keep him contained. Would he go to sleep in a strange room without his crib? I think the pack n play is the best option, and we'll move him to the floor if it's just to cramped for him.

I'd try the pack n play. Is it a full size one? My kids are always tall and they can sleep in them just fine until about 2 or 2.5.

Gah, I need some poop help!!!

Mary has decided that she *loves* raisins so she has been having lots of them for snacks. She usually only poops once a day and after eating all these raisins her poop is pretty much a pile of raisins.. Is this a bad sign? Should I not be giving her things that she doesn't seem to be digesting? I know it is normal for there to be bits of food in poop but this is crazy!

As a side note, she still isn't eating much solid food... a few crackers and a little canned fruit or fresh fruit through out the day but not much at all.

Hmph... who knew? So I can keep feeding her raisins then I guess. Boy was I concerned when I saw that! I have seen corn and things in her diaper but usually it is mixed in with her poop... the raisins were more like poop covered raisins.

Hey Chelsea .. just make sure that after she has raisins that you brush her teeth ... my cousins ate raisins by the handful as young toddlers, and when they made their first trip to the dentist, they ended up each needing a minimum of 6 fillings ... my aunt didn't realize how concentrated the natural sugars are in raisins ... but she sure found out when she got the dental bill!!! 3 boys x 6+ fillings each ....

Gross!! Forget chocolate covered raisins, it's poop-covered raisins. I will never be able to eat those again.

Thanks for the heads up Kara!!! I hadn't thought of that.

Sorry Amber... I now feel the same way about chocolate covered raisins.
