Another question...I was messing with my nipples yesterday and it seems like there was some clear fluid coming out of them...not much just a bit. Is it too early for that? I'll be 19 weeks on Thursday.

Kathryn- Thank you. Did you decide for sure about the midwife? It makes me sad I can never use one. My pregnancies are just too medical- between hyperemisis, fybroids, and the placental abruption last time, I need a doc- but in my dream world would find a practice that I can see a doc the first 6-7 months and switch to a midwife for delivery- or just deliver at the side of the road cause I stayed home too long...

With #1, my dad was asking about #2 in the delivery/recovery room- I told him to wait until the next day and then I'd be ready to think about it- I only had 1.5 hours of sleep in 36 hours... With #2, we had to find out that she was a girl due to medical problems so we were already plotting #3 while I was still pg...

leg cramps....make sure you are hydrated enough, and when you stretch your legs out don't point your toes, stretch with your heel out instead....it helps prevent them as much as possible.

leg tingles...sounds like baby is in a position of laying on a nerve and causing your leg to go numb....normal...not much you can do about it (at least not that I know of). Maybe trying to tilt the baby to a new position would work, but IME nothing really works that well for that...baby's like being one way and tend to go back there pretty easily no matter what you do about moving them around.

It's colostrum...I noticed it at 18-20 weeks with Jael...I didn't start fiddling with my nipples with Hannah until later in my pg with her...I noticed thicker colostrum around 8 months with her.

Yes, we are using a homebirth midwife. I talked about her in the natural birth thread. I am really excited, it seems like things are really working out!!

Lily- Thanks for asking. Things are getting better! I still have my moments, but in general, I'm feel better. More tired now, but I will gladly take that over the sick stuff!

Stephanie- I agree with the other ladies....just take an OTC prenatal vitamin. I think most of those have 800mcg of Folic Acid, so you're more than covered. That's the biggy. As for the baby supplies...last summer my SIL's were encouraging me to buy baby stuff at rummage sales. I just couldn't do it. We were struggling with getting pregnant, so that made it seem too much. But as Kathryn said, look at it as taking this in faith.

Jennifer
- Congratulations!!! I'm excited that the 2009 list is filling up.

Following- Just want to let you know I think you have an awesome attitude!!! And you'll have to let me know what you think of your homemade Moby wraps. When I first got pregnant I started looking into those, but have kind of forgotten. I have a brand new sewing machine still sitting in the box from 2 years ago...maybe this will motivate me!

Egyptian- maybe it's good your MIL won't be at the birth. You don't need the extra stress and drama. And when she's ready to see her grandbaby, she'll come around.

Donna- I've been waiting for the hiccups, too. I'm getting tons of kicking...just waiting to feel those hiccups!

Erin- glad you're back! And 19 weeks...that means your US is coming up!

21 weeks today for me. Crazy how fast time flies and how far it seems I have to go all at the same time. I had a 22 day old at work today...sooo cute! I'm loving all these little babies and can't wait for my own!

Kati - I didn't feel hiccups until I was around 30 - 32 weeks, so you might be waiting a while yet!!

Erin - I noticed colostrum around that time, too. I was actually *leaking* one night and Brad pointed it out

EgyptianPrincess, I believe PureJoy is a nurse. Not positive though.

Erin, I start leaking colostrum around 19 weeks too.

Kati, I didn't feel any hiccups until 36 weeks (just over a week ago)! That's alot later than most people tough!

PureJoy, Thank you! I think attitude is so important in life. I really believe a good attitude keeps you younger and healthier (and obviously happier). When I was working I worked with the elderly and it was amazing the difference in the ones who were really bitter and the ones who decided to be happy about their situations. The ones with good attitudes were almost always healthier, always happier and much more pleasant to be around! My mom used to always tell us when we were little "you can choose your attitude. If you're miserable, it's because you're choosing to be." Besides, things could be alot worse, I'm way better off than the majority of people in the world. Oh, and so far I love the wraps! I don't have a baby to put in it yet, but I tried one out with a baby doll and it worked really well (I know, not the same, but it gave me an idea!).

I woke up with a really sore throught this morning. I'm hoping it was from sleeping with my mouth open, and that I'm not getting sick! My allergies have been acting up the last few days, I suppose it could be from that as well...

Erin - I remember the calf cramps from my first pregnancy. They were tough to endure in the middle of the night although brief. Although I haven't had hip or leg numbness, I have been getting numb arms and hands plus localized pain in my hip. My doctor told me not to worry.

Kristin - You are in my prayers.

I haven't posted although I look at the board frequently. This pregnancy, now 12 wks along, is so much different from my 1st which was 10 years ao this save time of year. My pregnancy with my son was completely non-eventful and easy. This pregnancy is completely different. I have had 4 bleeding (mostly spotting) incidents so far and have been at the doctor at least triple the times a normal pregnancy. My doc told me I have to take it easy - no exercise or intimacy. Luckily, the baby's heartbeat is strong and there are no traces of blood. BUT it is a little scary not knowing what is going on. I was ok with "oh everything ok, don't worry" comments from the doc for the 1st couple of times, but by the 4th time, those words are not so reassuring. I thank God that I haven't lost this baby with all of the spotting so far.

When I was in L&D with the last incident, the ultrasound tech measured my baby at 19 weeks when I was 11 1/2. My 1st ultrasound at 6 weeks measured where it should have been, 6 weeks. Does anyone know if it is easy for an ultrasound tech to make a measuring mistake and poorly estimate?

Kristin, I'm glad they've gotten them to stop and will be praying.

Angie - praying for you too. I'm sure it's very possible the tech could have made a mistake. Can you get another opinion? I know as a pregnancy gets farther along it is much more difficult to determine gestational age by it.

Kristin, praying for you and your little one.

Angie, praying for you too. Do you know what measurement measured 19 weeks? They measure several different things, and there is really no mistaking a 11 weeker for a 19 weeker. I would absolutely demand another ultrasound.

Angela - I, too, would be requesting a repeat u/s.

(((Kristin))) Praying for you and your little boy! When are you considered full term? What did they change your due date to?

I hear ya on that! I woke with a scratchy throat last week and it has progressed to a cold/bronchitis. Not so fun, but so far it hasn't been too bad.

Yup!! June 3rd!!! I can hardly contain myself!!

We are planning to put our furniture together, or at least start on it this weekend. I am SOOO excited. We are ordering our mattress today...we found a good one on sale. I know its a little early but I want to switch things for the baby over early to help stress with our animals...also since I'll be working up until the baby comes. And I am wanting to make alot of the bedding and stuff and I want a bed to put it on!!

I got "fitted" (I use that term loosely) for my bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding. The bridal shop wasnt too worried about it, they said they've had this "issue" lots of times. The dress has an empire waist and good bust support. It is a halter top so I'll have to find a bra I can wear with it. But they said it's a style that would be very forgiving. Dress Dress Back

Praying for you Kristin. Keep us posted as you are able.

Erin that is a lovely dress!! I have always loved being in weddings. I'm glad they will be able to work it out. I didn't think they'd have much trouble. I mean if they are fitting brides in their 7th months, they surely can handle a bridesmaid.

I have a crazy question, sorta funny: Anyone stand away from the microwave when you are using it? Kind of a funny thing, I know, but it reminds me of a Everybody loves Raymond episode where the guys are covering their, um, parts while using a microwave. I think of that everytime I start up the thing. Does it have any bearing on the babe? I mean, my belly is right at counter level now.

I actually don't have a contact Donna. But she's lower than last week according to midwife so she said "Get your bag packed NOW and get your carseat TODAY" and I said "yes ma'am" She didn't check cervix, that's fine with me, but she has a feeling I could go anytime in the next week. GEEZ.

Then it's back home, take a nap and start on some laundry. I asked if I should avoid anything this late in the game and midwife said "No, have fun. Run all the errands you need, have all the sex you want and call me when you can't talk through a contraction or you are standing in a puddle" I like her style.

So off to car dealership for some work on the truck and then to babies r us to use gift cards towards carseat and crib mattress. Should be interesting doing this in a rental car.. dealer will have truck probably until Saturday.

I do!!! I read that about 1 meter or 5 feet is a safe distance, so I always back away to that!! I don't care if it's paranoid, I don't want a microwave-induced mutant baby!!

Erin - that dress is pretty!! What colour did she choose?
