_Cinderella_ -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/30/2008 5:44:39 PM)

I have been quite busy running errands and trying to get the house all cleaned up for our trip. I like to leave for vacations with a clean house so that we will come back to a clean house and not a mess. Plus while we are gone my in-laws will be coming over to feed the dogs, so I don't really want them to see our mess either. [;)]

We will be on vacation for nine days!

Hope you all have a great start to June!

Have fun Catherine!! I've been enjoying watching your countdown.

Well whoever prayed for my dentist appointment, THANK YOU! The x-rays weren't fun (I have a small mouth), but they said the only thing wrong is that I need 1 tiny filling, and that my teeth need 2 separate (and thorough) cleaning sessions since its been so long. The total cost of the "service" plan they wrote up for me was only $135! [sm=dance.gif][sm=funny.gif] (plus the $80 for today) The dentist said that most likely the pain I was having is from my wisdom teeth moving around and pushing on other teeth. I already know they need to come out, so that wasn't anything new.

solo_soprano22 -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/30/2008 11:55:37 PM)

[&:] I didn't enjoy babysitting tonight that much. It was decent til one of the girls started crying because she said she's not used to being w/o her mom that long (she's prob. about 7-9). The other two were okay, but I couldn't stop the one from crying. It'd only been four hours, but I called and basically told one of the women that I was calling so she might stop crying (she said something might have happened to them). She knew they were okay but still kept crying. They're from out of town so I won't have to keep them anymore, but it was interesting. I kind of felt bad, but I guess there's only so much you can do.

I know I think about things too much though... I know I have some mild OCD that I have to work hard to not let overtake me. It might be part of that. I harp on things and can't let them go... and have distorted views of what others may think of me. I can't really explain it, but I don't like dealing with it. I remember too much, then I think about that too much.

RepentanceIsRequired -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 12:15:04 AM)

I have felt nasty, awful, down right blechy today. I have been having these pains right below my ribs that span from one side clear to the other side. They hurt so bad it takes my breath away. I thought they were gas pains and took ultra strength gas-x and ate Tums and after a few hours they went away. Then they came back this evening twice. I took some Prilosec because mom says it is my refulx which has gotten worse. Right now it is okay but still very sore.

On the bright side my sister is here. This is the only time she will be able to visit this summer. I'm excited to show her our house in town. I hope to have a relaxing weekend before I have to start work Monday. I am not looking forward to that.

crimsonfollower -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 12:52:10 AM)

Nicole- where are you going to be working at?? I haven't talked to Grandma in several weeks. Sorry you aren't feeling very well.

Tamara- I possibly met somebody that you know!!! (Probably not, but it was fun to try to see [:D]) He is a Sr. pre-med major from Burmingham. He was here (in Brazil) on a mission trip and visited my school this morning. I just thought it was really fun that here was a guy that you possibly have class with and I was talking to him in Brazil (and I realize how big your college is and all, just thought I would throw it out there).

Have fun on vacation Catherine!! I am with you on leaving the house clean so you have a clean house to come home and unpack in.

So tonight was the Sr. High Banquet. The kids all looked amazing in their formal dresses. I tried to get some pics of myself when I got home. I will put them on my photobucket account either tonight or tomorrow (the link was in one of my posts from yesterday). It was fun, though it was a little cold. But other than seeing the kids and taking pictures, it wasn't a lot of fun for me because I didn't have a date. In other words somebody to talk with and treat me like a lady so I left once they dancing started.

This cold won't go away!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't take all of my meds right earlier when I got ready for bed (hence the reason why I am up at 1:50am typing a note) so I woke up a while ago unable to breathe out of my nose. I really want this to clear up because I will not enjoy flying in two weeks if I am this stuffed up. It is also that time of the month and I am not sure what is going on with me. I literally yelled at my kids today and the smallest misbehavior set me off. Usually I do pretty good. I may feel down, but I am able to keep my emotions in check and the kids really dont' know a lot. I sort of felt bad for one of the kids- he was trying to tease me (basically try to make me feel better0 ) and I all but took his head off. It wasn't right, but I wasn't in the mood for it. Lesson to the boys in how to read hormonal girls. Hopefully I start tomorrow so that everything will be back in good shape by Monday. I would really like to enjoy my last week at school and not be like this previous week where I got upset with the kids all the time. But I don't know if it is the added stress of trying to get ready to move right now or not, but this is the worse emotionally that I have been in quite a while.

I guess I will see if I can fall back to sleep now. Have a great weekend everybody!!

ThursdaysChild -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 3:40:59 AM)

Just kind of jumping in here. I've been on the computer way too long and I want to read a real book that I can hold in my hand. LOL Plus I need to make sure E keeps studying. Make up for yesterday.

I want to go to Lebanon now! I've been talking to A about it and now I want to just hop on the plane. Only 3 more weeks! Whoohoo! (Whatever happened to Dancing Dana? I miss her!)

Have a nice day, ladies.

McGuinessMagee -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 3:44:41 AM)

Are we nearly ready for June? I can't believe we're that far through the year already. In one month I will be 35yo and we will have been living in Brisbane for 3.5years.[&:]

Roberta_ -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 9:40:42 AM)

((((Beth)))) it sounds like things are very stressful for you right now. It's so hard to say goodbye, even if you are looking forward to your destination. Be good to yourself. This is a very better-sweet time for you.

fluffmonkey -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 10:18:33 AM)

crimsonfollower -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 6:00:19 PM)

Well, I managed to get something done today. I now have suitcase/boxes full of items. I already have two suitcases full of things to take back and that doesn't include clothes. I may need to reevaluate a few items yet [:D] But I at least feel like I accomplished something today - though I now have a mess that I get to live in for the next two weeks.

Here are pictures of my house and one from last night. It isn't the greatest since trying to take a picture of yourself is difficult. But it will give you an idea of how my hair turned out that I did a couple of weeks ago. Okay- I am going to try to get something else done today. I have lots of papers that I can grade.

I finally get a face to go with the name! [sm=wave.gif]

uponeagleswings -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 7:20:32 PM)

DH and I are taking it easy today since he's still feeling iffy. We just finished a netflix movie (No Reservations), and the Red Wings game will be on in a little while.

Your hair looks cute Beth. I can't imagine trying to pack up lots of stuff- do you have a limit on how many bags you can take?

BrowneyedAL -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 7:54:54 PM)

Hi ladies...hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday...I spent mine doing some overdue spring cleaning...I'm exhausted now...but my home smells so fresh...and I love that!

crimsonfollower -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 9:05:03 PM)

Probably can't take more than 6 and I know that I can't afford more than 6. If it becomes that many, then I will have to leave some things here. So far I have probably a little more than 2 bags, so not too bad. That isn't counting clothes yet though and some things like that. I also got all of my papers graded this evening!!!! I feel like I accomplished something for once [:D]

Thanks for the comments on my hair- I like it more all the time.

Glad you got your home cleaned Lisa!! I love to walk into my house after the maid has been here- it smells so good!! I understand not doing much Stacy. I think that is going to be me tomorrow. I may make it to church, but other than that, my only plans are to sleep, reading and watch movies.

Okay- I thought of one more little thing that I needed to get done yet tonight and then I am off to bed. Have a great Sunday everybody!!

daughter_of_faith -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 9:12:48 PM)

The last couple of days have been great!

We were blessed with great parking at the zoo yesterday. My friend's mother is SO giving that my son was SPOILED on his birthday with a slurpie, ice cream, AND a toy (so were his friends--her grandbabies....but wow!).

Then today we had his birthday party at the park. All of his little friends from preschool that we invited came. Note to self: never order that many pizzas again. LOL...we brought home 2.5 pizzas & gave 3 other FULL ones away. The kids had a great time squirting each other with their water guns [:D]

Our son is out cold (has been for just over an hour now). I think he may well be out for the night and it's only 6:15 PM here. Oh well...DH usually gets up between 3 or 4 AM if that is the case. I'm usually not far behind DH. It's hard to sleep in an empty bed!

(((Beth)))---hugs---this too shall pass.

Stacy---that's great news about your dentist trip!

Tamara---aw, on the babysitting. I once babysat for a little boy who would only stop crying if I let him watch Scooby Doo. It was sad & it's really hard to feel so helpless for a child because you really can't do anything for him/her if all s/he wants is MOM.

Wow....so many of you ladies are moving/traveling. Guess you're keeping the airlines busy, eh?

ChiefWannahakaloogie -> RE: May's chat thread for women (5/31/2008 9:50:06 PM)

Hi Lacey and Mandy!

It's nice to "meet" you ladies. I hope you don't stir up too much trouble together. [;)]

So tell us about yourselves. Have you graduated from high school? Will you be attending college? If so, do you have a major? What else would you like to share?
